Well, IMO it has been "confirmed" for a long time!
I think that it will be a completely new story, i dont think we'll be playing as Joel still time around.

I liked TLOU, but I'm not too happy about the fact that it's getting a sequel. It's like what recently happened with TLoK, The first game felt perfect from a story stand point. Having a sequel would probably kill some of the magic.
You don't, but countless of others do :P

PS4 is now,
1. Bigger install base.
2. Attach rate high.
3. More digital sales.
It might even get 15m+ numbers if the game is great.

That was the most interesting side story for me. I felt so bad for those guys! I kept wishing you'd meet someone alive in there
