Forums - Sony Discussion - Is Capcom close enough to Sony for MH5 Vita?

I was in London this past week-end but I saw that a lot has happened in the industry.

In particular, PS4 was getting SFV exclusively (as a console) and Resident Revelations 2 was going to PSVita. The latter point is particularly telling when you think that RE:R1 was a huge 3DS exclusive in its early days. That's quite a blow for Nintendo's handheld which is struggling to get relevant 3rd party games, let alone mature ones.

Now the question : does RE:R2 case show that Capcom has lost interest in the 3DS market? Does SFV exclusivity show that Capcom is moving away from Nintendo for more deals with Sony? If the answer is yes, there's a big chance that the next main Monster Hunter title would come to PSVita. Not necessarily exclusively, but with the graphical gap and trophies, consumers may pick the Vita version rather than the 3DS one like it happen in every case of a Vita/3DS simultaneous release.

That would be a genius move. It would revive the Vita overnight. Better than the SFV deal which I think is fucking pointless.

I doubt Capcom would like to put their Monster Hunter brand outside 3DS at this point, but I think there's room for future projects of Capcom being created/ported into the Vita.

it might make vita relevant again,so it would be a smart move

Doubt it... I am pretty sure the 3ds's MH sales would want to make Capcom continue to earn that money instead of putting it on the Vita of all things. RE:R2 is multi-platform so I am guessing Sony made a deal with capcom to port it on the Vita. Not to say Sony can't do the same but with the SF:V console exclusivity and if they made MH5 exclusive as well, thats a hell of a lot of money which I highly doubt Sony wants to spend on the Vita alone

It would make the Vita relevant, but I doubt it will happen.

i dont understand why capcom wouldnt release this on both 3ds and vita. they would make shit loads of money on both platforms.

MH5 will be on next Nintendo handheld. End of story

They don't lose the 3DS's sales MH sales money if they make MH5 for both

Possibly because of a Nintendo contract somewhere.
