Just booted up City Folk again.  Paid off my first house; collected some bugs, dug up some fossils, caught some fish.  Went to the city gate to see if I could connect with another town, and lo and behold Nintendo isn't supporting the service any more.  I think I remember hearing that before..but it must have slipped my mind.

So here I am, waiting for the next iteration in one of the most oddly addictive games I've ever played.

Anyone have any idea when we should expect the sequel?  After Splatoon?

But really...what would you guys like to see in the follow up?  More of the same?  Should they keep the rounded world, or go back to the original look that was featured on the GC version?  Are there any other accesories that our little villagers need?  Or maybe you've played too much of the game, grew out of it, and never want to go back.

Thoughts?

I know this is probably the equivalent to dreaming in color but I'd really like AC:U to be more of an MMO in the sense that it's always connected to the internet. Friends can visit your town whenever they want (even when you're not there) and there's common goals (AKA quests to do).

Also, if you liked City Folk, you should give New Leaf a try, easily the series high point.

Well, if with new leaf, you are the major of a city, then the next step up would either be the governor of a state or the president of a country so... But then again, that might be too big

Amiibo for gifts

New Leaf makes some nice additions and I would like to see them make the new outdoor features even more intractable. Other than that, I would absolutely love to see them add amiibo support that lets you move in select favorite characters to your town.

Imagine hanging out with Yoshi and Diddy Kong in your town?

It would be nice if we could visit our friends towns even when they´re not online.

Yes please! I know it's inevitable, but I would be very excited when they announce it!

Bigger towns with more villagers would be great in my opinion. And no pause menu; Your inventory and everything is accessible from the Gamepad. (Maybe they'll have a pause menu only during remote play, actually)

E3 2015, calling it. That's for sure coming. Can't wait for it, GamePad gives a lot of potential for this title, also the Online-possibilities. D:

I don't know...I think if they were to introduce Amiibo into an existing franchise it would be NintendoLand.  It actually makes a lot of sense.  The first game was chock full of activities, but was lacking that next "wow" factor.  This could ratchet it up a few notches and create something very compelling for all the franchises involved.
