Sorry Nintendo fans but just by looking at Bayonetta 2 sales which had everything in its favor to sell well, it didn't. Exclusive game, marketing from Nintendo, rage from the fans competitor, 90+ metascore, bundle with the 1st game. It has so far 340k and it's not in the top 75. It's obvious there weren't any chance for almost any third parties to sell well even with all the excuses that have been brought until now. I'll get it, it's a niche title which probably will be used as an excuse. Sorry but selling third parties games on Wii U is just a miracle.

Ok

Demon Soul sold 500k during its first 8 months over the Ps3 = a success

Bayo 2 sold 340k over 4 weeks,  it is a failure.

I like the logic from fanboys.

DS sold more than 1 million at the end.  You and I know bayo 2 would be lucky to reach 500k, just look at the legs.  Typical of some, looking at the whole library to find that game that fit their agenda ignoring other bunch of ps3 games that showed the console didnt have such a problem selling third parties games, I cant say the same thing about Wii U.

Actually WD for the PS4 is 19.99 at Target for BF, don't even know if I should pick it up.

This should be locked.

Ill get it when its dirt cheap. Kinda like the idea of having a game like this on the WiiU. Probably the first time Nintendo has gotten a GTA like game on any of their consoles I think. Lego City Undercover is probably the closest thing.

They had Godfather on the Wii and IMO it was the best version available.

Bayonetta 2 is the example they choose as a successful mature game on Wii U? Seriously, if Bayonetta is the poster child for what is a successful mature game in Wii U then it is a good way to convince 3rd parties to never release a mature game on Wii U.

Then again the only more successful mature game on Wii U is Zombi U, and while its LTD is likely to be more than B2 ever achieves it's perhaps not so great to be throwing a not as successful as it should have been specially designed Wii U exclusive made by Ubisoft in Ubisoft's face as an example of why 3rd parties should support Wii U with mature games.

Demon's Souls was only out in Japan for its first 8 months.  Of course it didn't actually do 500k in Japan in those first 8 months, and it did more than 500k if you align the launches, so I don't even know where you got that number.

Demon's Souls is considered a success because of its final total.  Also the fact that it is a new IP, if Dark Souls had sold significantly worse than Demon's it would be considered a failure.

Bayonetta 2 is also significantly overtracked in the US.  By more than double for the first two weeks at least.  It also hasn't shown much in the way of legs in Japan or the UK.  After 9 weeks in Japan it still hasn't reached the 360's first week much less the PS3's.

The Wii U version of this game should have been released at half price.

I'm shocked!

There have been more posts on this thread than copies of Watch_Dogs wii u sold.

To the geniuses who say "Ubisoft deserved these sales":

Do you geniuses realise that Ubisoft already made their money on this by selling millions of copies on other platforms? Yeah, they did.

Ubisoft is NOT hurt by watch dogs wii u poor sales in the slightest. The only one that is getting hurt is the wii u, as Watch Dogs wii u is going to be held up as a textbook example by the entire industry for third party games not selling well on wii u. It is going to be the excuse that third party developers use for not bringing their games to the wii u.

It is a very calculated, very well thought out conspiracy by Ubisoft designed to give ammunition to all the developers who don't want to work on the wii u and want to bail out. With the example of Watch Dogs, developers can just shrug off next time they decide to skip the wii u.

It is also designed to send a stern warning to Nintendo not to f*** up their future console designs with underpowered hardware and overreliance on gimmicks. How many gimmicks does PC have? How many gimmicks do xbox one or PS4 have? Hell, did SNES and Genesis have any gimmicks back in the day? Exactly.
