It got a 7.8 for too much water and too many HMs.

I have not been pissed off by a review in a while. But this one.... 
It's a remake because it holds true to the original ruby/saphire games. And it's in the Hoen region, which; wait for.... HAS A LOT OF FUCKING WATER.

Just stupid logic on this review. 

 

I literally can't even right now.

I've already talked about this a bit, but honestly, water is kinda garbage in pokemon games. This is all just a problem with the method of scoring remakes

I think it's a a perfectly valid criticism. The excessive number of water pokemon and incredibly tedious water navigation sections (of which there are many) where my two biggest gripes with Emerald. From what the reviewer says, those navigation sections haven't aged well at all, especially when considering how far the series has come in hammering down on boring fluff. That's exactly the kind of thing i want to be told by a review.

The only reason people are up in arms about it is the score. If it was a 9 with the same complaint nobdy would care.

It's not just the score or the humorous complaint, it's the actual review.

She spends far too much time (2-3 paragraphs) on the aspect of excessive water, and HMs. The whole piece isn't very well structured also IMO. What about Mega evolutions, or the new story content? I just didn't like the overall presentation of the review. Score doesn't mean jack to me.

Another example of people skipping everything that matters (hint: the actual review) and then taking things completely out of context. You guys doing this are way worse than IGN. Please, read the f'in review before you complain about it.
