Interstellar.... OMG. go watch the movie NOW. *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Forums - Movies Discussion - Interstellar.... OMG. go watch the movie NOW. *SPOILERS INSIDE*

last night i watched interstellar, i literally knew nothing about the movie other than they go to space, its directed by christopher nolan and the two main actors. my god was my mind blown away. one of the best movies i ever seen, easily in the ranks of great movies like saving private ryan, brave heart and forrest gump.

i think its a cool coincidence that we get two amazing mind blowing movies about outer space in the space of two years (gravity and interstellar). but i loved both of these movies. cant decide which one i loved more, both were utterly fantastic.

what do you think about the movie? what are your favorite moments?

also, is it possible for the movie to have a sequel? i think it can but i dont suppose it would be as good as the first.

To me, it felt like Kojima had done it

The first half was poorly cut, with every scene taking twice as long as it needed to

Then the second half was better, though in a less Kojima way, it simply relied on all the characters making absurdly stupid decisions to keep the plot going

Then the ending.... As someone who studied physics at University, it was almost insulting to put that nonsense in there

While the physics were mostly good (I have issues with the shuttle craft), the way it kept that high level and then let itself down was really disappointing.

But it was REALLY PRETTY! I watched it at the BFI IMAX which is the largest screen in Britain and those IMAX shots were truly stunning. Shame the plot wasn't

I loved the movie, was well worth the hour drive to watch the 70mm IMAX version, digital still has a long way to go to match film quality. Gravity was pretty and a technical achievement, Interstellar actually brings a story with real emotion. The ending was great as well, and you can also explain it without retrocausality. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6827350 Makes more sensein a way. Solves the plot holes of why he didn't make a bigger effort to make his younger self stay, or simply not send or mess up the coordinates in the first place. Or you can assume it was all in his mind and he died as soon as het entered the event horizon. The movie hinted enough at the last thing you see before you die is your children.

The movie can certainly have a sequel, the original plot has enough ideas left for one.

The movie is certainly not perfect, taking a lot of liberties with physics and the usual unlikely events to drive up the tension. Still a big improvement over Gravity, which was basically 3 times the same thing with nonsense orbital physics. Gravity felt more like a big tech demo.

Entering the 3D worm hole, and later the black hole was truly amazing in 70mm IMAX. Same with the fly overs of the planets. The tesseract also looked very good and felt claustrofobic and infinite at the same time. Great Music too, although I will have to listen to that again at home. Some parts were too loud to hear without my ears distorting the sound.

I loved to movie too, awesome at Imax. Little bit clunky in the middle section though.

But your OP loses any credibility when you mention Braveheart as a great movie. That movie is trash.

😊

I'm not really here!

Hey now, Braveheart might be overrated but it's still a pretty good movie, which seems to be the general consensus.

OT: I saw Interstellar last night in Imax and it was definitely an experience. A lot of it flew over my head, but I thought it was awesome!

Good thing I didn't read any of the posts XP

I'm trying to see if Cinema City has an English version of the film, damn it's 3 hours long? I'm too tired to go see all that tonight XD

Gravity didn't really have a story and the main point of drama didn't make any sense (in fact much of the premise didn't make much sense)

This at least had an attempt at a story. I don't feel this did a great job of it though
