Forums - Gaming Discussion - Final Fantasy XV's World Is Freakin' Enormous

For new generation Nintendo fans who have not play FF games before. This games is more of classic Final Fantasy world map exploration + GTA + Xenoblade + Kingdom Heart + next gen graphic. Don't worry there will be a lot of side quest, mini games, etc..., if you want to know more check this site http://gematsu.com/2014/10/final-fantasy-xv-new-details-footage-paris-games-week.

Xeboblade X will be larger and have more to do.
This game just looks bad as a RPG. Lack of variety in characters. Terrible looking combat and it's an on rails game in terms of progression. Square does not know how to make RPG's anymore.

Did you consider FFX linear? It had corridors too. Sure it was a Square and not a SE game, but that's not really relevant. Let's look at the games themselves.

You need to remember that there's more to linearity than just the map layout. The way you level up your characters can be totally non-linear, such as in the sphere grid. I didn't play FFXIII because the characters and world didn't look interesting to me and maybe I missed out so I may pick it up still.

Thing is, this game is open world. Odds are that you will be able to visit worlds in mostly whatever order you wish and even skip some. How is that linear?

This time they removed the corridor and put a big world in fornt of us. But thats it. There are no side quests in this huge map. It feels emptly. At the end of the day I will be crossing this big world like a linear map.

One other thing. Characters movement seems like they are dancing like a 13 year old girl. These developers need to learn something from western developers.

So, you ignore all the replays to your first post about what is good about this game, then you go on to complain about somethings as superficial, you need to look behind your personal preferences and appreciate the ambition.

It was said multiple times that the world will be filled with events, npcs and dungeons. All confirmed by the director. The demo is one hour long but If want to do everything it would take 3 hours. Again all confirmed by the director.

The animations are well made, they just don't apeal to you because you hate the characters design. Characters move differently on different surfaces, the soft animation on clothes and hair are really well detailed. Your hate is not explained, there is no substance to it I guess.

Now I see why it was cancelled on PS3, can't wait for this game!

Highlights from the conference (copying from the other thread)

Walking the world

  • The first video shown is a portion of the Dascae region which will be on the demo
  • Events and enemy position removed/changed for this video to show just the walking
  • You can eat and gather information at gas stations
  • If you can see something in the background you can go to it
  • Depending on the shape of the ground Noct and friends walking animations will change
  • If you keep running you can see your friends tire and try to catch their breath
  • You can fish in streams, rivers, and the ocean!
  • You can fight the wildlife. As they are always active, be careful as they will attack if you get close
  • There are buildings in the forest with people living in them. You can enter some of these buildings
  • There are also animals that aren't enemies like cats and dogs
  • In order to make the mountains the developers actually climbed one. They might show a video of them doing this one day
  • Demons like the Naga or the Goblins will come out of the caves at night
  • It's dangerous at night and is safer to rest at a gas station or by other means
  • The party members dialogue will change in accordance to the time
  • A Chocobo was shown in the forest. Look forward to finding out more in the demo
  • The enemy airship patrols will sometimes land and fight you
  • Magitek Armor will make an appearance. (was not meant to have been said)
  • The Dascae region is as a large as 10% of the game

The Tech Demo!

  • Currently transferring the game from Ebony to Luminous
  • Engine transferring currently 80% complete and will be 100% done by the time the demo is out
  • Working with Sony and MS to help push the hardware to its limits
  • Not all, but you can destroy buildings and the ground
  • With the power of Luminous FFXV will far surpase FF:AC
  • Another tech demo is planned to be shown at a later date

What??? are u even trying ???...look at the statement that you made : you just dont like that Final Fantasy from the look is a thousand miles better then X Xenoblade chronicle with it's next gen graphic, and it's not an on rails game progression, the game is open world game.

I'm disappointed that I've still not seen any yaoi from this game. What are artists waiting for? The game's release? :(
