PS4 is still the fastest selling console for its first ~1 year. It just depends on the time period you define. Wii will probably remain fastest to 50m but it was not fastest to 100m

WHat people forget is that some markets have grown massively since Wii/PS2 time and are making up for lacking Japanese numbers, like Asia outside of Japan (remember the chart from Sony?)

I want to see this thread after holidays..., when we will be seeing PS4 at 20 or 21 mill sold, or after FY results in March 2015 when PS4 will be around 24-25 mill sold. I bet most people will think otherwise and this poll will turn to ps4 favor....

No way any console in the foreseeable future beats the Wii's first years.

Wii was selling like hot cakes in the first 4 years, and then dropped down. PS4 is selling steady, and maybe it'll outsell the wii in the long run.

Note it, you still have to prove me wrong during this last year.....

- PS4 13'5 m shipped - Wii 13'17 m shipped during their first 4 quarters.

- Wii shipped 6'97m during its 5th quarter (2007 holiday season), and 4'31m during the 6th quarter (Jan-Mar 2008). Total shipments for Wii before April 2008 were 24'45 m.

- PS4 probably sold around 12'5m units before October, from that 13'5m shipment units. Add around 750k-1m for October, so right now around 13'2-13'5m sold to consumers before November. I'm expecting around 3m PS4 sold in Nov and around 4m sold in Dec, so basically I expect 7m during Nov-Dec. In the end I expect around 20'5 m sold to consumers before 2015. To reach that they have to at least ship 21'0-21'5 m.

- Considering all the games that are coming 1st half of 2015, another 3-4m units sold until April is almost a guarantee, so they need to ship around 4-5m more. In the end I see around 25-26m units shiped before April 2015 for PS4.

I voted PS4. Currently the PS4 is ahead of the Wii in shipments 13.5 to 13.2. This is without any high profile system sellers. The PS4 just recieved one of the biggest features in gaming history and it works as advertised. 2015 will be huge for the PS4 with games like Bloodborne and Uncharted 4 already confirmed. Add to that the weak competition ,a potential price cut and a Playstation event to hype people up for the holidays, i dont see how it dosent outsell the Wii by that time frame. The biggest issue may be supply constraints but it seems Sony has figured that problem out.

Wii will beat PS4 to 50m, but PS4 will be end up above Wii LTD.
