Forums - Sales Discussion - Did Xbox One Beat Wii U Already??

Nope.
I also think that the shipments are quite high but there is a lot of unsold stock.

This is the first time I've been in a toastboy thread in awhile, and I'm happy to see nothing's changed.

Xbox One Undertracked by ~500k based on shipments estimates today

Wii U is about 300K overtacked at least based on shipment estimates from earlier

A few weeks went by that vgchartz hasn't updated yet of Xbox One outselling the Wii U. The new baseline for Xbox One seems to be larger than what is shown here based on shipment data.

It's possible that the Xbox One has already outsold the Wii U dont you think? Maybe in a few weeks or a month?

People are going a little crazy on todays results. It's shipped numbers and it just launched in a lot of new countries. A lot of the shipped numbers would be to stock up a lot of stores in all the new contries. 500k could easily be sitting on shelves in the new contries it launched in. Could be more!

Alright, so let's go by your logic.

500K undertracked of 5.9M = 6.4M

300K Overtracked of 7.4M = 7.1M

7.1M==6.4M?

By some terrible math, yea!

Its Toastboy math.

And where is this shipment data.... or sorry these are shipment estimates?

And isn't there a difference between shipped and sold?

I don't know, I tend to interpret Microsoft only releasing one single number of shipped units for the 360 and XBO together as a sign that the XBO isnt doing all that great. Assuming that most of those 2,4m units are XBOs and that most of them were sold through to consumers sounds like wishful thinking.

What about when Sony does it?

7.1M is obviously the same as 6.4M...

#FACT

no it has not passed the wii u. But I believe the ps4 passed both quite a while ago.

Systems Owned: PS1, PS2, PS3,PS4, Wii, WiiU, xbox, xbox 360, xbox one

It's equally possible that the Xbox One is over-tracked by 500k and Wii U is under-tracked by 300k.
We don't have official specific numbers for either.

Even if XB1 accounts for 1.5 million of those 2.4million Xbox console shipments between July and September it doesn't mean Microsoft sold all of them, new retail regions were probably over stocking to make sure they didn't run out and they overestimated the demand in tier 2 regions.

No no, that can't be right. How can WiiU have lost to the XBox already when MEWTWO IS COMING BACK TO SMASH??!!

But seriously, we're talking about a miscalculation of more than 800K units. That's a lot. Also, wouldn't Microsoft have said that they are the second best selling 8th gen console already?

You know it deserves the GOTY.
