Another FUD BS from UbiSoft. No statement from them without an agenda it seems.

thats kind of the point of PR

Yeah, but I hate that they're trying to sound like industry experts when they're a publisher trying to push their own games.

Of course Ubisoft are not saying that without an agenda, but unfortunately I feel like there may be some truth to that , we already see crazy expectations in reviews to put open world absolutely everywhere and I hate that since I'll take linear over it any day of the week. I think the market may be shifting towards it as well.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

but every publisher is trying to push their own game.

thing is, pretty much every game from Ubisoft now days is open world. watch dogs, farcry, the crew, Assassins creed and the division. so they are promoting open world games.

Ubisoft is taking rockstar route. They are always eager to take headlines by positive or negative news. As for the article they have forgotten last farcry games. Apart from that "censored" alternative ending farcry 3 was very linear. Really ironic.

Please read people. I thought it was an idiotic thing to say too but in the context of video sharing this kinda makes sense.

Not that linear story driven games will die out but all that video game streaming will certainly keep a few people from buying the game if they'd seen it in full on youtube.

Sadly, yes, it's not without merit. One only has to look at the next Zelda.

Reviewers are not without an agenda either, many of them are too much spoiled by the element of freedom to enjoy a focused narrative.

I still don't understand people who watch other people play entire games on YouTube or even parts. It robs you of experiencing the game yourself, playing the game your own way. And robs you of true socializing.

Don't know who these people are either but apperently they exist. Or there wouldn't be so many let's plays.

Full game, I completely agree.  Parts of games, that's easy.  At least, from my perspective you can't trust a reviewer any further than you could throw them, and most companies just release a stream of PR that is hardly trustworthy so the only sources of unbiased material are actual gameplay footage.  I look into a great many games that way.

Oh, I don't have anything against short gameplay videos, I talking about let's players. Sorry.
