I've been killing real people online for years I think it's about time we shift the focus from killing poor 12 years old to killing stupid npcs you know when judgment day comes they won't hesitate to kill us, we better practice killing those lower form of A.I if we want to survive as a species

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

While I personally find it crude and In bad taste, I am absolutly against any form of censorship, as mentioned before movies (our big sister medium) have already touched many dark concepts with pointless violence etc.

If you have concerns then simply dont buy it that is your right but dont tell me I cant buy it because your rights end where mine begin.

just seems like a video games version of gore movies. texas chain saw massacre and those types. not my types of movies, but the game seems fun!

It's disgusting, yes, but covered by freedom of speech. As long as it's not telling anyone to do anything illegal, it's perfectly fine. If you don't like it, you vote with your wallet and that's your primary way to make an impact. Also this game probably heavily relies on negative publicity like this and you're doing it a favor by sharing this. And finally, if you don't like it, feel free to express your opinion but remember that freedom of speech is an actual thing and you don't go limiting it just because you don't like it. It's a slippery slope.

Its the best looking top down I've ever seen. Graphics, animations and destruction look very well done. Its just PC brigade who are dismissing it.

Why? Is it console only?

I hope sites that cast value judgements on the game also refrain from reviewing it. Kinda of difficult to create an unbiased review when you hate the very premise of the game.

And why does gaming have to pander to the non-gaming mainstream to be "accepted"? People desperate for the game industry to be validated by others are just insecure and lack substance. The industry has thrived simply by making enjoyable games, there's no need to shape the industry by the standards of people that don't play or respect games.

It's like pretending to be someone else to fit in with the "cool" crowd, which is pathetic.

People can make games based on what ever they want. That said this game will not be getting my money ever

The article's very reactionary and the #Gamergate link is tenuous at best.

I actually don't think the game will do particularly well though. There are plenty of other games that allow you the freedom to play at acts of mass violence if you wish. Those games tend to also have other elements that bring in wider audiences and give the games extra dimensions. Based on the description this seems to lack any real depth.

Then again, articles like this may just give them the marketing push they need.

Disgusting game that's based on the filth in some people's hearts. There are a lot of other games were you can kill the civillians, should you CHOOSE to, but never is it the sole purpose of the whole game. Those who don't see the difference by now are not going to change their minds by discussing it.
