Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ps4 and xboxone, 2014, year of the gaming flops.

Titanfall, hyped hyped and down the drain. Left people feeling underwhelmed... A c-title.. Still sold great.

destiny..... Sold well... Most were left with bad taste in their mouth.

watch dogs... Good sales.. Mixed reception among costumers..

now.. Wii u titles.. Mario kart 8, costumers loved it. Pikmin 3, costumers luuuvd it. Tropical freeze, those who played it call it the greatest platformer in years. Super mario 3d world, folks had a blast. I could go on and on.

Why is it that nintendo costumers are more satisfied with the finished software products and enjoy their gaming experience, as opposed to ps4 owners and xboxone owners being underwhelmed?

why do ps4 sell so well when the games do not satisfy the costumers? And why dont wii u sell better when people are much more satisfied with the software?

Opinion not fact, i was more satisfied with Killzone then Pikmen. There goes your theory. You whole thread falls hard on the fact you are basing it on what you think you know what others feel.

I could swear i saw some thread based on the same foolishness from a xbox fan.

Maybe it's because people will expect more of the PS4 in the future. Maybe it's because of an established fanbase. And maybe they chose the PS4 over the Wii U because they didn't find what they like at the Wii U and because there isn't multiplatform support on said console. It's just a matter of taste and preferences.

Well.... If a game sold well... Its not really considered a flop lolll

With that being said, you do have to realize that this is the first year of the x1 and ps4, of course the games wont be as good as another console's second year... But I do agree that the wiiU might have a bit better satisfaction rate on their Nintendo games but the wiiU as a platform probably doesn't considering how little support it gets from third party

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Because nobody enjoyed inFAMOUS SS and/or TLOU:R...

I think people need to open up a dictionary and look up the word "flop" cause it's used too often.

Well I mean if you compare Nintendo and their DK Tropical Freeze, MK8, Hyrule, bayo, and Smash. I'd be more satisfied with PS4/One than those 5-6 retail games a year. But that's just me.

And it's only been one year for PS4/One. It's year 2 for Wii U... bad comparison.

Edit: If you're talking "flop" as a measure of quality, that's subjective and even more nonsensical IMO.

Well, the 3rd party titles are mediocore at best though ;-p i have enough cash to buy both x and ps4, but im not gonna hold my breath... All i see is bleak software and gameplay dissapointments.

Well bud it's facts, not opinions. It's a fact that this year, the big hitters people were wainting for on PS4 and Xbox One received average reviews although they were too much hyped.

Mario Kart 8, on the other hand, is considered the best Mario Kart on console since the original one on SNES and got great critical reception (it stands as the highest rated console Mario Kart).

So yeah, 2014 was disappointing for PS4 and Xbox One, although people bought those consoles more than Wii U.
