Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do you use your console for other things than gaming?

For the most part just games...I have used my PS3's media streaming a few times, but that was only because my laptop doesn't have an HDMI port.

Around the Network

Netflix and the occasional gane streaming viewing.

3DS - nope.

Wii U - Youtube, I don't have Netflix or the like yet.

PS3 blu-ray, music videos, home videos.
PS4 blu-ray, ps live sometimes to check out a new game.
WiiU You tube, the kids watch cartoons on it.

I don't use the browser on any console. My 1080p laptop is always in reach, why bother reading it of tv or low res gamepad.

wii u, netflix, youtube, web browse( im typing on wii u gamepad right now) and pdf reading on tv, for studing, researching.

ps3, blu-ray.

Since consoles are getting more and more multimedia and entertainment functions, I wondered if you guys are actually using your consoles for anything other than gaming.

I myself don't really use my Wii and 3DS for anything special and I don't expect to use any media functions for a long time unless I get a Wii U. I think the gamepad is pretty neat for YouTube and simple web browsing. My phone is way more efficient at doing those things though, because I always have it near me.

PS4/PS3 is a great Blu Ray player and Netflix box, and the Vita is an excellent portable video player.  I also use my vita for music right now since my phone's headphone slot died.

Netflix and Hulu.

Mostly just games. I used to use the Wii for Netflix, but I use my blu-ray player for that now.

I use my Xbone for a bunch of stuff other than gaming: Twitch, Youtube, Netflix, recently got cable so I now use the HDMI input on my Xbone feels nice to have my game ready for me and tv at the same time.

i use my PS3 to watch anime, listen to music and... thats pretty much all the extra usage it gets.
