I don't get the hype or draw to this game.

It's the sequel to one of the best games of last gen, that's reason enough for me to be hyped! :D

No wonder he gets so pissed from time to time. Gamers are retards sometimes, seriously...
Nintendo made this game possible, if you want to play it, buy a goddamn WiiU.

Simple as that, but sadly some people cant figure it out.

That probably needs to be the slogan in a tv ad or on the box.

True. The best part is I already read some comments going all like "But I don't want to buy a WiiU, it has no games !"

So what the eff is Mario Kart, Super Smash, Xenoblade, The Legend Of Zelda, Hyrule Warriors, and freaking Bayonetta 2 ?

(also, he bought an XBO and a PS4 Day One. So yeah, that's quite an argument he has there)

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

I don't get the hype or draw to this game. Yes its a good action adventure game, yes I am happy that ninty helped them bring this game to light. But we are talking about a series that its best outing was on the PS360 and even then only managed sales of around 2M. And now its on the wiiU exclusively and I am certain it will not break 1.5M in sales.

What gives?

Yeah, when the first Bayonetta came out it was heralded as a successor to the Devil May Cry series (since people generally loathed DMC4).

It also established a cult following and garnered a strong fanbase.

In saying that I really dont feel Bayo2 has any hype but it has been the attention of a lot of hate lately. (A friend of mine that really liked Bayonetta on PS3 absolutley hates Platinum Games now for some reason, and wants to watch them burn.....)

I can see why Sega didn't want it anymore. I really don't rate Kamiya at all, his upcoming Xbox exclusive Scalebound sounds good so far but I'm thinking it may turn out to be another Platinum flop

Beyonetta wasn't a flop though. Beyonetta 2 probably wouldn't have been if it was for XB One and PS4 and theres still time for the west to make it a hit on Wii U. I'm surprised Sega holted development, what else did they intend on investing on? Beyonetta is one of the most successful console games they've had in a long while.

If I remember correctly after having supported a decent amount of smaller projects SEGA changed direction completely to only focus on bigger titles, so even if Bayonetta was successful it wasn't successful enough to be part of SEGA's new grand plan.

You seriously think Bayonetta was one of the best games of last gen?
I thought it was terrible.

Absolutely I did.

Its outrageous sense of fun, fast and fluid combat, dark humour, and epic setpieces earned it a spot on my top 10 Wii/PS3/360 games.

Gamers who buy an Xbone and PS4 day one and then moan that the Wii U has no games are not gamers in my opinion. All consoles will eventually get games at one stage that set them apart from their competition.

I will one day get a PS4 for games like Bloodborne, but not in the near future. I could easily complain that Bloodborne should be on Wii U, or even Scalebound since it's another Platinum game.

'Gamers' these days simply want their cake AND to eat it too but cant understand that is impossible.

You might not have liked it, but from an objective point of view, Bayonetta is a stellar game (well, the 360 version). And probably one of the best of last gen.

Only managing sales of 2m is underplaying a bit. 2m is strong for something that most people consider ''Niche''. Its a V good action game (what more do you need?), fufils a gameplay niche that isn't being occupied by any other action game (Essentially continuing Devil May Cry's style since DMC went in a different direction), has that unique Japanese flair missing in most game.

I am not saying it didn't do well, hell demon's souls which was an exclusive on PS3 did just around 1.8M. I know thats great for niche titles. But demon souls went in the right direction, they went multiplatform, dark souls went on to sell around 3M or so. I just feel that all the attention and hype this game seems to get doesn't match its sales at all. Makes me think we are dealing with a very very loud minority.

On another note I think its also a very nintendo fan problem too, they hype evry game to infinity and back, but when the game is released they don't buy it.

Well its the games exclusivity that has so many people talking and understandbly so. It would be like if Dark Souls was xbox exclusive and not multiplatform. Playstations fans will be like WTF. And yeah, as you said the otherside of it is it being hyped as one of Nintendo's flagship titles.
