Yeah, when the first Bayonetta came out it was heralded as a successor to the Devil May Cry series (since people generally loathed DMC4).
It also established a cult following and garnered a strong fanbase.
In saying that I really dont feel Bayo2 has any hype but it has been the attention of a lot of hate lately. (A friend of mine that really liked Bayonetta on PS3 absolutley hates Platinum Games now for some reason, and wants to watch them burn.....)
