Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Convince me to buy Hyrule Warriors

Untrue. Wonderful 101 can be found for a pittance, for example, and the Metroid Prime Trilogy was being given away for a while. Retailers will discount heavily to clear stock shortly, I suspect.

Who was giving away a limited release of a game that was sold out nation wide? Because they were literally giving away a hundred or so dollars until GameStop got restocked on "used" copies (for 90$).

W101 was on sale because it bombed, and no one was buying it. No Nintendo mainline title ever sees much in the way of discounts, not even DKTF has seen much of a price drop and its the lowest selling mainline IP.

What?  I wish I would have seen that.  I kept my eye on the last few copies at a few local stores around me.  I never did see the price move.  Eventually I caved and bought it.  I just had to have it, and I was getting nervous with only about 4 copies in the area.

Thats because it didn't happen. That Trilogy had massive supply issues because NoA only printed a set-number then discontinued it, you were lucky to have a story with four copies.

You have to forgive noname2200. He has been going on a trolling spree lately, so getting facts right hasn't been of real importance, rather it mattered to get them wrong.

He meant to say Metroid: Other M.

Okay, now that I can believe. Fortunately I never had to buy that title, and it will never taint my library of Metroid titles.

Multiple retailers were selling it for $20 once. BestBuy was the first, and then Target and Walmart did so as well. Target's lasted quite a while too. I regret not jumping on when I could!

For Metroid, you're thinking of how it's doing now: recall that the game bombed at first and was on fire sale shortly after release. Earthbound is a pretty good analogy, actually.

For Wonderful 101, that is correct. And I stand by the comparison.

Seriously, where were you people!?! I thought this was common knowledge. The Trilogy did poorly at retail, and at first the only "supply issues" the game had was in shipping too many copies.

Honestly, I saw this thread yesterday and thought "the thread title sounds egotistical". I know the OP may not have had any such thoughts or motives, but I just had to get that out. To answer the OP's question directly: you're obviously interested in the game if you even started this thread. It's a Dynasty Warriors game so its not gonna blow your mind or challenge you. Most times you'll fail a mission, it will be because you failed to meet a certain condition or you fought alone while leaving too many of your troops behind to fall to the enemy. It won't be because the enemy emptied your life bar. Their selling to your love of Zelda. Here's my personal experience with such stuff: I knew beforehand that Dragonball Origins was going to be a shit live-action adaptation of one of my favorite anime of all time, but I couldn't bare the option of not seeing it. I had to know how Hollywood portrayed DragonballZ. Are you curious enough to play a Dynasty Warriors game just because it's set in the Zelda universe?

Believe me, I knew this game was only printed in limited quantities.  I made sure to keep an eye on it.  It wasn't even one store with 4 copies.  It was two different stores in my area that each had 2 copies.
