Forums - Gaming Discussion - Insomniac Games on Sunset Overdrive: No Plans for PC Right Now, but "we'll see what happens in the future."

Cool if it comes to PC.
Not everyone has a PC for these types of games, I see no issue with it coming 6-8 months later.

Insomniac probably didn't even realize this question was asked to forward a certain agenda. In all their years of developing they have never made a PC game, but they didn't say NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT, so that means PC confirmed and no need for XB1 yada yada yada.

This changes nothing. Gameplay footage still disappoints.

I don't get that argument. Just because they've never gone on PC, doesn't mean they can't or never will. Heck, going by that logic, they never would have made an X1 exclusive (since they worked only with Sony for so long). There's a first for everything, and I imagine this could be their first

Start planning please!

They've said they left Sony because they wanted control of their IP. Thus this won't just be on Xbox One. It looks pretty decent so I hope so

They haven't, at least not yet. Considering how similar the X1 is to PC, it shouldn't be that hard to port it. Heck, I would not be surprised to see Insomniac porting SO to the PS4. However, this isn't good for the X1. MS needs to stop implying (even just a tiny bit) that their "exclusives" will eventually go on PC because pretty soon, it will run out of selling points.

Why buy an X1 for games that can only be played on that system for 6-12 months?

Again?! First Halo: MCC and now Sunset Overdrive?

Wait, is Halo MCC really coming to PC?

MoHasanie made a similar thread for Halo: MCC a few days ago here: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=190557&page=1#

Neither Halo: MCC nor Sunset Overdrive have been comfirmed to go multiplat or at least, PC... yet. However, both Microsoft and Insomniac did not put their feet down and say "No, Halo: MCC and Sunset Overdrive are not going to PC. They can only be played on the X1." It is this that makes people wary of these two games' statuses, especially in context of what happened to Dead Rising 3 and Ryse.

I would be kind of surprised if it didn't, given a lot of other Xbox One exclusive have gone to PC. Ryse, Dead Rising 3, Titanfall, even Project Spark. Even Quantum Break's developer, Remedy, has a history of prodding Microsoft to allow their titles on PC, as they consider the platform pretty important to them as a dev, so odds are pretty even that Quantum Break will eventually go PC. The only full exclusives currently released that aren't directly owned, (IP and all,) by Microsoft and/or developed by first party studios, and/or require Kinect to have much point at all, are Crimson Dragon and D4. (If I'm missing any, feel free to point it out. =D )

Sure, Sunset Overdrive might become the exception, break the habit so to speak, but odds are kind of running against that. o.o Does make me wonder what Insomiac has in mind for the IP, though; they were highly determined to keep it, after all, so I'd be surprised if any series that this spawned remained Xbox exclusive.

It will happen soon enough. Game won't sell enough on X1 alone to justify not putting it on PC

I don't see anything
