Disagree. I feel that this is what the original 3ds should have been. It should have had a second analog nub, as evidenced by the many games that would have greatly benefitted (monster hunter, resident evil, kid Icarus). Also its most celebrated feature by Nintendo (the 3d itself) was widely neglected by the 3ds audience (if it's not held at the right angle it becomes blurry and hurts the eyes). I feel like they were upgrading the 3ds and realized how out of date the system really is, so they pushed the upgrade further than they ever have before. I will admit that some aspects make it seem like a new system, but in the end it is an updated 3ds that will have a few software exclusive releases that would not have been able to run on a normal 3ds.
i wish they would have saved Xenoblade chronicles for the release of their next system. Imagine a handheld Xenoblade chronicles on a glorious HD screen with improved controls?

I agree it's what the 3DS should have been (why on earth did they not include the second analog nub is beyond me :( ) but I'm still a bit on the line as to wether I consider it a new console or not. I think it really treads the line and is very similar to the change in mobile phone models we have yearly, where it is a new phone, but of the same line. So it's still a Galaxy, but it's a Galaxy S4 rather than a Galaxy S3. They play 95% of the same games but there are some that only the Galaxy S4 can play because the processor is 50% more powerful. I'm used to mobiles doing it, but it seems strange to see consoles do it. They normally keep the power levels the same, but just shrink the insides to make it smaller. They had an expansion pack that did something similar to the N64 if I remember correctly though, you needed it to play Majora's Mask I think? Hmm, I just don't know how I feel about this. I was going to get a 3DS this year, but it kind of puts a damper on it =/
I might just have to stick to emulating Xenoblade chronicles :P I'm really holding out for a WiiU remake though!
