Forums - Sony Discussion - Square Enix On Dragon Quest Heroes: "Not A Musou Game"

"It's not a Musou title." It's Dragon Quest "Heroes."

Anyone who watched the trailer knows it's a Musou title. The small snippets of gameplay scream Musou, and then, oh, it's developed by Omega Force, the same dev that develops several Musou titles each year every year.

They also developed Toukiden recently, so it's not impossible for them to develop other genres.

OT: I like Musou.  But I'd probably like it if it was more of an ARPG even more.

Not that it's going to come west :(

Ah we'll see, if it actually looks good then Sony fans will probably bother Shu until Sony decides to chip in and bring it to the west.

If every bit of gameplay they showed didn't look like Musou, I'd have a different opinion.  Until I see something that shows otherwise, it's a Musou title to me.

Also you don't have to worry.  While not super popular, Dragon Quest is popular enough in the west that a game in the series that requires little localization will make it.  Every Gundam Warriors game was released west, One Piece Pirate Warriors 1 and 2 was released west, and these are Namco franchises.  You know how stingy they've been releasing titles in the west until recently.

Although this is Square Enix we're talking about.  Dragon Quest 9 was the last game they've released and it sold really well in the west and now they're afraid a remake of the best game in the series won't.

I don't know what to say... The footage I've seen kinda looks like Musou.. Who knows though.. :S

yea it looked very much like a Musou in the trailer, maybe with a bit less cannon fodder

Maybe they should've made a trailer that doesn't make it look like a musou game?
