Funny xbox fans who are absent on NPD threads now show up today in this thread. DDOS has zero to do with security. Xbox live went down JAN 4th from a DDOs attack....It is just packets overloading a server , hard and almost impossible to strop. Amazon also went down, they have the biggets server infrastructure in the worls

within the hour? it's been gone for ~6 hours now

as i told you, that was an update from 15th August

in the afternoon it changed to 24th with a new update mentioning the DDOS attacks

Why would I lie about it? I'm not trying to defend Sony or anything, but I remember seeing that message and the last time it had been updated was the 15th August. They've changed the page to say OFFLINE now, even though it's working for some (including me)

One thing is for sure; they really need to revamp the whole PSN Status page. The Xbox one is SO much better.
