---Agreed but because it sold more games and more revenue & profit. However, the real winner was Nintendo.

XBOX 360 is the best console of old gen, imho.

First half I give to 360, second half I give to PS3. 360 did well for MS in terms of Live and Gold sales. PS3 finally picked up for Sony in like 09. In terms of last generation market share MS saw a much bigger climb in sales, while Sony saw a decline. Looking at the future PS3 positioned itself better than 360 for PS4 and Xbox One respectively. I thought PS3 had the better exclusives, but that's subjective.

All in all. I'd say a tie overall.

By sales overall probably the PS3. However the 360 was a bigger success to MS than the PS3 was to Sony.

PS3 sold more but 360 was more profitable (or lost less money). I think its a tie.

360 was definately a better console, though PS3 really showed some great stuff last year while XBOX 360 kinda had nothing special. Overall though I'd give it to the 360

On metrics it's hard to pick a winner, but as a PS3 fan for the last generation I couldn't ever help but feel as second string to 360. So with my gut, 360 was the winner.

I think a big factor people forget is that it was easier to own the consoles last gen. Like people were happy to pay for one annual online sub for quality gaming. How many people are going to buy two consoles and two subs this gen?
