Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Comments On Lack of AAA Titles For PS4: "Perception Issue, 2015 Great For Core Players & More"

Being a PS customer from the PS1. I'm inclined to agree that there's a lack of AAA titles. It's actually been worse in the past but unnoticed due to backwards compatibility which the ps4 lacks unfortunately. My only ps4 game since launch is KZ:SF. I do understand that things will take a turn for the better starting this fall. However, the first year of the ps4 was definitely lacking IMO

Still think you'd enjoy Child of Light and Transistor. Give indies a chance pristine!

Welp, they wont be getting my money anytime soon, thats for sure! Not that they need it considering how much it sells anyway

?? What is even the point of your post other then to show your ignorance or anti sony bias?

How is that ignorance or anti sony bias? They don't have the games that I want just yet therefore I wont be buying a ps4 anytime soon... If they are gonna sell me more indie games, well, most of those indie games are avaliable on my PC anyway and the few AAA games that are avaliable atm aren't worth the $400+ for me to buy a ps4 just yet

So I take it you havn't baught an xb1 yet either? Considering it has considerably less AAA's and games in general out now and announced for the next couple of years.

All Hail the Jester King. The King is back, and I am still a dirty girl prof ;)

Well, in their defense, they did mention there would be less AAA titles...as sad as that does make me.

The PS4 definitely need some AAA love right now. I think destiny will keep people busy until driveclub and others drop.

Edit: Reason is that, whether or not it is a preception issue doesn't stop the fact that they hyped the console to make us believe that there will be way more AAA exclusives then there is right now but clearly, thats not the case

People like you seem to have forgotten that both PS2 & PS3 had their droughts on the first year like PS4 is having now.

No I remember, the issue is that the companies continue to overhype the consoles with promises that they can't fulfill. If they didn't hype the console like that, I would have no issue with it. And this doesn't only affect Sony. Nintendo and MS did the samething which I do call on them on other threads

Its packed if you are only interested in those games... So far, the only game that seems interesting to me that aren't avaiable on PC are Infamous SS and Destiny. The rest aren't interesting to me

Yes but your in a unique situation. Your basically shopping for a second gaming console. When I was a pc gamer I saw no point in owning a console. It wasn't until I needed up upgrade and I started a career in IT that I switched to consoles. It's very hard to convince someone in your position.

Not really. Tons of people own PCs and consoles. The main selling point of consoles is exclusives that you can't find on PCs, and the PS4 simply doesn't have very many right now. The few that it has are mostly mediocre (Knack, Killzone, Infamous), and nothing to buy a new console for.

Tons more don't game on PCs AT ALL (I gave it up after spending $3500 on my last gaming PC in 2005).  Not only that, but I PREFER console gaming.  Less hassle, better "big screen" experience, and couch based multiplayer.

Man I don't know about you guys but this year has been perfect for saving money, clearing some backlog or playing older games I've missed. Just because there's an early gen drought doesn't mean there are no games to play.

That is a lie!

A lot of games is a lot of games regardless of whether or not you are interested in them. They don't cease to exist because you don't want them.

Yes, thats true hence why I never said its not a lot of games, I said that it doesn't have the games I am interested in... If a console is filled with a lot of games but most of those games can be found elsewhere, there is no reason for me to buy a ps4 until the console has more games that can't be found else where

I understand that but he said the fall was "packed" with new releases and you said it "wasn't packed" because those games don't interest you. I'm not debating your lack of desire to purchase the console, that's your prerogative.

Seriously. Let's look at each console by their most recent "big" game:

Xbox 360: Watchdogs (May)
PS3: Watchdogs (May)
Wii u: Mario Kart 8 (May)
Xbox One: Watchdogs (May)
PS4: TLoU:R (2 weeks ago)

But yeah, PS4 is the one lacking big games....

not sure if serious or sarcastic post.. you bring up WD for X1.. but Sony had WD, which it also sold better on.

Man.. I hate it when your girl has to leave my place to come back to you..
