I like the products alot, owning a Surface, Nokia WP, W8 PC and my wonderful XBox:es :). I actually like all of the big three, they are fighting to make the best of a gaming industry that has gotten alot of competition these last 5 or so years and they provide us great games.
Most of all, I like the direction MS set early on, where their games got a certain feel to them. Fable, PGR, Forza, Halo, Gears and so on are these actionpacked, american style games that fits me well, so I stuck with them.
They're no different than any other massive corporation. They want your money. Period. The reason MS gets more flack than a company like Sony or Nintendo is because MS is actually successful in obtaining that money. No one wants to cheer for the guy that wins all the time. It's why we all hate the NY Yankees.
I always get a kick out of these people that accuse MS of being some evil anti-consumer monstrosity and praise Sony and Nintendo as being "on the side of consumers". It's absolutely hilarious.
So do I like MS? No more or less than any other company. I do like the fact that they entered and have stayed in the gaming industry. The competition they created has improved console gaming for the better.
No, I do not. Their business model is one based PRIMARILY on finding a trend, copying said trend, releasing cheaper, inferior version and making a small profit. As an artist, that's shameful imo. I just can't relate or endorse that kind of mentality.

I don't understand your reasoning. At all.
They haven't blatantly copied competitions IPs yet.
Xbox Live has been a thing since 2002/3(?).
Yes, they have probably provided more entertainment and school, work time for me in my lifetime than any other company. Though when it comes to just gaming I occasionally want to bitch slap them.
I don't like MS, but I don't consider myself as MS hater. As well as Apple too.
I like windows 7
