Forums - Gaming Discussion - So sick of the whole "this gen has no games" talk. Here is the truth.

Agree. Right now I'm just very glad we have a console Mario Kart and a new Pokemon generation already. Saving up for a PS4 later this year too!

Yep.

games take time to come out, that's the way it's always been for the most part.

There are tons of games available right now... of course the breadth of games is lacking, but there certainly isn't a lack of games.

I've said this in other posts that have talked about this, MS and Sony give the game ownership of their consoles to be around 2.8-3.2 games per person. So if that's the average, who are these people complaining there are no games, because I have over 14 boxed games, and about 10 digital titles. So there's a massive difference between the two values.

There are lots of games, there is a lack of what i would call truly AAA games that make people excited, the Fallout's, the Uncharted, Deus Ex....etc. But it's starting, AC this year is Next Gen only, Destiny is a big title on NG (yes I know its on current gen, but there will be overlap of products on consoles we expect that). Then from October it goes into over drive.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

Agree with OP.

So, technically, at the moment, this gen has no games :D . Except for MK8 thou.
More to come for sure but, strictly speaking, at the moment :D so we can use the "This gen has no games" statement.

When the Xbox 360 came out many on these forums were not yet teenagers. Were you even allowed to play as much as you wanted? Nowdays you play trough a new game in max a week. Back then they lasted far longer.

bump because people are still complaining....

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

Xbox 360 also launched with Condemned. Consider your argument DESTROYED.

I want to remind everyone that the fifth gen didn't really began until 1996 - a full 2 years after the PS1/Saturn released. Try to think of ANY memorable game from the generation, and I can pretty much guarantee it came out in 96 and beyond.

Even so, you mean to say that the PS1 and Saturn games like Ridge Racer, Warhawk, Clockwork Knight, Tekken, etc weren't a huge leap over what the 16-Bit consoles were doin!?
