The original Resident Evil game is being remastered for release on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, Capcom has announced.

Due for a digital launch in early 2015, the game updates the original with 1080p visuals (for PC and new-gen consoles) and 5.1 surround support.

You'll be able to choose between playing the game in its classic 4:3 ratio or in 16:9 widescreen, and have a choice of control styles.

The classic Resident Evil control schemes remains for purists, along with a more modern style for moving characters more easily - in the direction of the analogue stick

OT: Ok, I guess it exists, would have been cooler if it was next gen exclusive though I guess that it makes sense to release it on PS3 because of Japan.

- Cash grab

- People should buy a Gamecube and play the original
- Resources could have been used to make RE7/REboot

- They could have remade some other RE game (except RE 5/6)
- Owners of original game should be able to upgrade for $10

Why is it stupid, the original game was hugely successful and is over ten years old so people can't even call it unnessecary, the only thing I wonder is if its really just a remaster or if they just falsely call it that while it's actually a full remake.
