Oh and what's taking Attack on Titan season 2 so long? Feels like it's been forever since the first season.

They need to wait for the manga to adapt more material ...

Attack on Titan isn't some Weekly Shounen Jump manga equivalent seeing as how it only releases 1 chapter a month even though they're twice as long ...

1 chapter a month? Damn guess I shouldn't expect the anime anytime soon.

Cross Ange is fucking awesome^^
An anime accused to hate and abuse women for male amusement turns out to be the feminist magnum opus of the decade.

I wish I could rate it higher. The 7/10 just doesn't reflect on the bold material.

Here is the newest chart btw:

http://static.neregate.com/2015/03/neregate.com-Spring-2015-Anime-Chart-v3.png

41 potential animes with 20 being a guaranteed watch.

Thanks for the list, really helps me when hunting down new shows to watch. I generally watch only a couple of anime per season, as it's really tough to find something that interests me.

And I usually wait for the season to be over and watch them all in a row. Right now watching "Death Parade", I like it so far 4 episodes in.

Spring 2015, only two shows that seem interesting to me are "Vampire Holmes" and "Plastic Memories". Will wait for reviews to decide if they are worth it.

all of the anime lately is utter crap.

Really bored of the same old premise and character design/personality.

So you haven't watched Junketsu no Maria?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I had a discussion at work today that left me somewhat rattled.

I was speaking with a co-worker, one who is also into gaming.  It went something like this:

poko:  "Oh, yeah, did you hear?  They're planning on making a Robotech movie."

co-worker:  "Robotech?"

poko:  "Uh.  Yeah, you know ... Robotech.  Macross."

co-worker:  "What's that?"

At this point, I was totally confuzzled.  The possibility of that kind of response never entered my mind.  I said something out of desperation that I really did not want to say.

poko:  "Yeah, with the ... the fighter planes that turn into robots.  Like ... like Gundam."

co-worker:  "Oh, okay!  Well, if it's like Gundam, it might be alright, then."

It just totally popped my bubble.  Freakin' Macross!  Not that I blame him, I guess Robotech never got big in the US.  Still, though, I used to read the novels and the story is so awesome.

I guess it's not nearly as big a deal as I thought.

I never heard of Robotech until yesterday and Macross isn't that big either. It will always just be that "thing that is like Gundam". No one who isn't into anime will even know what Macross is.

Macross is a veritable institution in Japan and one of the most respected anime/toy franchises.  Robotech, the English name, was more well-known when I was a kid but they completely fucked up making it popular over here.  Many anime licensing companies back then were awful.  They edited stuff out and changed the story and script.  It was a travesty.

The toys were cool, though.  I had the small version of this.

This is interesting, too:

Super Dimension Fortress Macross Ranked Japan's Favorite Idol Anime

  • Super Dimension Fortress Macross 19.2%
  • Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel 11.4%
  • THE iDOLM@STER 9.4%
  • AKB0048 7.2%
  •

  • Love Live! School Idol Project 6.8%
  • http://macross.wikia.com/wiki/The_Macross_Wiki

Of coure, Macross pretty much invented the anime idol with Lynn Minmay.  Music is extremely important in the Macross series.

A new anime, 'Macross Delta', is being producted.

In between seasons is a great time. So few animes to watch that I finally have some time to get some older animes done. Making good progress on Nanoha.

BTW best April Fools joke I heard today:

    http://www.malupdater.com/changelog/

The joke is that you can't login anymore as soon as there is a new update you haven't installed yet. Took me a while but I think it's pretty funny^^
