Actually I don't have a highly anticipated anime for once. I stayed clear of any trailers and all of the sequels that are coming out are only must watch out of habit rather than anticipation. I know absolutely nothing about the new animes this season.

Though my favorites so far that I have watched are Danna ga Nani, Cross Ange and Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete.
Grisaia no Kajitsu and Sora no Method could become good.

Wait, Fate/Stay Night? Isn't it Fate/Zero?

So turns out Gugure Kokkuri-san is about as funny as I expected. Good!

Psycho Pass S2 seems to be the only fall anime going for me, I only watched Tokyo Ghoul during the summer so I can't say there was much anime for me to watch during both summer and now fall.

It seems there's not much I'm interested in the past few years, if anything I've been watching Western animation a lot more the past 3 years, only one anime movie I'm truly anticipating and that's the final Evangelion since I've been a fan of the original series and Hellsing finished way back in 2012 after watching that for 6 whole years.

While the writer is Gen Urobuchi who often attempts to subvert expectations, this time he plays directly into them. The main character with next to no training somehow has the super mind powers to defeat these giant near invincible weapons in a crappy mech?

Just wanted to point out 2 things.

1. Gen Urobuchi only wrote the first 3 episodes.

2. The main character did have some training.

1. He probably had a lot to do with the direction the show went story-wise, so while he didn't write the actual episodes, he probably worked on the synopsis

2. Thats why I said "next to no training" and not "no training"...it just felt really trope-y and whenever it came up I just rolled my eyes. Like really? This one kid took out what? 4 Giant Martian Mega robots in a shit-tier Kat and all the armies of the world couldn't even take down one? Really? Was there anyone anywhere who was a competent tactitian instead of just saying "send more waves of ants at these giants!"

Just finished Aldnoah.Zero. Loved it! That ending though!

Can't wait for part 2

Yeah, while I think that the majority of the show was a bit mediocre, that ending has me hyped for the next season!

Conclusion: AZ is a generic mech anime and really nothing more. The characters are weak and the plot is weak, so surprisingly the best part are the mech battles, where you can just sit back and turn your brain off. Unfortunately, the show doesn't even succeed as mindless blockbuster fun, because it expects the audience to be emotionally engaged without giving them a reason to be. AZ fumbles along every turn and I really cannot recommend it to anyone.

3.5/10

Good to know, as I gave up after two episodes.  I don't like "mecha battle" anime unless it's something that transcends the genre, like Gurren Lagann or Code Geass.

In other news, I watched The Fruit of Grisaia episode 1 today.  It was pretty bad.  Looks like another anime about high school girls who are the best assassins/fighters/whatever in the world and the one high school boy who can tame them.  Only the psuedo-tsundere really caught my interest.

Anyone seen this shit yet? lolll (Skip to 1 minute)

Its like one of those, "I have seen enough hentai to know where this is going" sorta moments loll. Oh and its sfw
