Didn't hurt Lost Odyssey though. Problem is that Sakaguchi is better at it than them as well.

So, you agree that Enchanted Arms was bound to be 64 in meta either way?

Not at all. I said with Sony's help it could've been better. What I was saying that in my opinion they work better in tandem with Sony than alone. If that wasnt so we wouldn't have Demon Souls or Dark Souls. Sony sees their potential, but admitted that they saw their flaws.

You are going off the road here. I haven't argued about OP's theory regarding FromSoftware and Sony. All I'm saying is that Enchanted Arms was a very good game, and not even the help of Sony would have prevented a 64 in meta with that one, all things considered.

Sony is not a game company.

I never argued that Enchanted Arms wasn't a good game. I was saying it could've bee better. Being that it was a multiplat there was no way it could've been changed. If Sony would've helped out on that it could've been better. Essentially I am saying the potential is there. MS had a port of it though, so the chances are slim that any changes would've happend to the original. The job weighed solely on the primary team.

Exactly my reasons to believe that Enchanted Arms was bound to be 64 either way.

The internet made from Software a respected/known company. The PS3 had a lack of games at the time so any game especially an exclusive not being released caused a story. Then an internet petition gave atlus the ammo to publish it out west were it quickly became an internet darling and this word of mouth sold dark souls.

It came out in 2009. The same year as UC2. The PS3 was getting a steady stream of games at this stage. Why is this thread just full of misinformation. Nearly second post is spouting nonsense. Same to the person saying the souls series didn't get big until Dark souls. Demon's sould almost the same number as Dark on the PS3. And I have yet to play any game in the series. Just wanted to correct some things.

I do apologize. Yes the ps3 was getting a steady stream of games but I just don't remember a large number of big exclusives coming out at the time, of which demons souls was meant to be one.

Little Big Planet Resistance 2 and Motorstorm the end of 2008 before Killzone 2, inFamous, Uncharted 2 and Rachet and Clank that year. Along with Flower, indie I know but everyone seemed to love it. Then into 2010 you had Heavy Rain and God of War in the start of the year.  PS3 was pretty much at it's height for exlusives that time. Not a bad 18 or so months.

In case you didn't notice I was stating a hypothesis this whole time based on the fact that you asked what RPG's Sony was involved in. I already understood your point and answered that its been done, but I added the hypothetical to add to the point based on Sony's developmental track record being able to help rather than hurt as they've been for many other studios.

"Has Sony made FromSoftware a well respected studio?"

No, they were known for their Armoured Core games way before Souls came along.  Demon's Souls is actually the spirtual succesor to their King's Field series.  Sony actually passed on publishing the game internationally.

That said From Software are known for creating hardcore games, but their games tend to perform poorly on a technical level.

If Sony handle the technical side of BloodBorne is should be something special.  That said, even now if I wouldn't run out and buy a new game just because it had From Software's logo on the box.

It it were Platinum Games' though... :D
