Forums - Nintendo Discussion - My Top 10 reasons I hate the new Pokemon.

qwertyDANIELqwerty said:

For about the past 5 or 6 years or so, Pokemon has hit rock bottom. Their last masterpeice was Heartgold and Soul Silver, after that, I am displeased with pokemon now. Gens 1-4 were fantastic, but what te hell happened?

This is just my opinion, so please correct me if you feel to do so.

10.) Rivals: Back in the day, it was great to have a rival to go head to head, and it felt great after beating them, but now it seems like just friendly battles that just are unmotivated and just there to be there. This is more of a minor complaint, but I'll continue

9.) Easy: This is self explanatory, it just got too easy.

8.) Fairy type: This was just uneccessary, it was just awful. Terrible idea, Game Freak, Terrible idea.

7.) Spoon-feeding everything: THis is especially in X/Y where everything freaking everywhere is just handed to you like a toddler. It made it that I didn't get toenjoy getting stuff, MYSELF.

6. Air battles: This just annoys me because it has HARDLY ANY USE. What was the point in the first place?

5. Wonder Trade: Have fun getting pokemon yourself? Well, now you can just get all the shiny action replay hacked pokemon you want if you get lucky.  Great idea, Nintendo....

4. Rushed: X/Y was only made in a couple years, which is why there is nothing to do after you beat it. Sad but true.

3. Action Replay: What happened to being fair, now it is just a few button taps away from having every legendary ever. WOW....

2. Fanbase: NO MATTER WHAT the Pokemon company decides to do, fanboys will defend and praise its name, just eagerly loving whatever is thrown at them. Not everybody is like this, but sometimes people are just pathetic in the fanbase, which annoys me.

1: Mega Evolution: All I can say is these are STEROIDS FOR YOUR POKEMON.... that is all I can say....

hmmm, lets see:

10) yeah, the rival thing was nice but it as more shifted towards friendship which overall, I think works better for pokemon as they are still rivals but their friendships pulls them through.

9) The games were always easy, are you sure you just never grew up and then over time of learning, it just made them easier. (well, aside from EV training which is a lot easier now).

8) A new type was needed though (or else a massive restructure of all the types..... a new type was easier and would make less people complain) as there was quite a bit of unbalance especially with dragon type.

7) not sure what you mean by spoon feeding, if this is also about being easy and being told where to go, they did that in the previous games and the previous games were much more linear.

6) Yeah... air battles are kind of useless but... so are double and triple battles if you put it that way. The Air battles were more of just a new way to battle and only able to use certain pokemon for those battles.

5) Not sure why wonder trade is a problem. Last I checked, you cannot put pokemon from an action reply over wonder trade, GTS or Poke Bank.

4) I actually do agree with you on this one, the game did feel like it was rushed and there was not much post game content.

3) why are you brinign up the action reply? This could be used with the other games such as HG,SS, B/W and B2/W2 and etc. Those pokemon cannot be traded unless you go and offer a person a trade request and even then, you cannot transfer them to the Pokebank so they are locked to that game.

2) what does the fan base have to do with the new pokemon? Just because you don't like them doesn't mean others cannot like them as well. I personally like a bunch of the new pokemon and the game over all.

1) I can see what you mean, I was a bit thrown off with this when announced but grew to not really mind it especially since it is not just OP for the player as some of the trainers, especially the late game ones, can also use the Mega Evolutions.

i can actually agree with this but Garry is only memberable to me cause of how much a A Hole he is

9.) Easy: This is self explanatory, it just got too easy.

all Pokemon games are somewhat easy to me

8.) Fairy type: This was just uneccessary, it was just awful. Terrible idea, Game Freak, Terrible idea.

this was actually one the best ideas for X and Y since we haven't gotten a new type since gen 2 and it helps balance Dragons since they are by far the most powerful type

7.) Spoon-feeding everything: THis is especially in X/Y where everything freaking everywhere is just handed to you like a toddler. It made it that I didn't get toenjoy getting stuff, MYSELF.

i never notice this

6. Air battles: This just annoys me because it has HARDLY ANY USE. What was the point in the first place?

to add a new type of battle though i admit there should of been more of them

5. Wonder Trade: Have fun getting pokemon yourself? Well, now you can just get all the shiny action replay hacked pokemon you want if you get lucky.  Great idea, Nintendo....

this is actually one of my favorite parts about X and Y because you don't know what you will get and i have gotten starters from this

4. Rushed: X/Y was only made in a couple years, which is why there is nothing to do after you beat it. Sad but true.

aside from like Online Battles and Trading, Friend Safari, and catching the rest of the legendaries and besides i would say Gen 2 is the only one having post game content worth talking about

3. Action Replay: What happened to being fair, now it is just a few button taps away from having every legendary ever. WOW....

there are cheating devices for every single Pokemon game so don't just count X and Y

2. Fanbase: NO MATTER WHAT the Pokemon company decides to do, fanboys will defend and praise its name, just eagerly loving whatever is thrown at them. Not everybody is like this, but sometimes people are just pathetic in the fanbase, which annoys me.

Genwunners are the worse then seriously they are so Nostgal belind by a lot of the flaws of the first gen

1: Mega Evolution: All I can say is these are STEROIDS FOR YOUR POKEMON.... that is all I can say....

i admit they should be better balance but this is the first gen with them and besides the Psychic type was freaking broken in the first gen

Sorry but no, Pokemon Black 2/White 2, Emerald and Pokemon Platinum all have good post-game content.

My main problem with today's Pokemon games is the designs. Yeah, I know I sound like those Pokemon haters or genwunners, But the design quality really went downhill for me, and it's not just the Pokemon.
I can learn to like the new Pokemon, I used to think Gen 5's Pokemon were utter trash, but after playing a lot I started to really like them.
But the other design issue which urks me to no end is the Trainers. I was so scared they'd ruin my favorite gen's designs after I've seen X and Y, and they did IMO.
Brendan looks like he's wearing a swimming suit and got sunburned too bad,
May looks scrawny as hell and what's up with every girl getting short shorts/short skirts?
I kinda like Roxanne's design,
What the fuck happened to Brawly? he went from badass into a beaver boxer thing.
I like Wattson's design, but I preferred his old one, even though not a lot has changed.
Flannery's decent.
Norman, I'm just indifferent, he looked cooler in Gen 3 IMO, though.
It's not like Sidney wasn't wierd looking before, but now he looks plain creepy.
They didn't change Phoebe's design, they just gave here a much needed redrawing.
Steven looks as cool as before, though I'm not a fan of the scrawniness.
Male Aqua Grunts, What's with them socks...
Female Aqua Grunts, again with the short shorts/short skirts.
Male Magma grunts looked a lot tougher/more menacing in gen 3, they look like wierdos now.
Female Magma Grunts, short shorts/ short skirts one more time... (it's not like they didn't wear short dresses before, but damn those shorts look pretty bad, and the upper design for ALL grunts looks especially lame.
Shelly... why did they remodel here genitic make up?
Courtney looks like she's uncomfortable in those clothes... also, short shorts/short skirts AGAIN -.-
Matt, I guess once you go black, you do never go back... and what the hell's up with the steroids?
Tabitha, this has got to be like the worst re-design in the history of re-designs.
Archie's supposed to be the fish king now?
Maxie traded his cool points for dem sciency glasses, I guess his eye sight weakened after seeing the other designs...

I was extremely hyped for Gen 3 remakes, especially after seeing how Gen 1 and 2 were remade, but ORAS are making it really hard for me to be hyped right now...

I laugh when people complain that new Pokemon games are too easy. Exactly how difficult do you think gen 1 or 2 was?

Yeah I have to chuckle at that too. It's called being 10 years old back then opposed to an adult now.

Maybe he meant things like getting shinies and the likes are easier now?

I actually agree with this. I'm not a fan of the new art style Pokemon has adopted. Gen 1-3 were very reminiscent of Akira Toriyama, Gen 4 and B/W were the transition period and B2/W2 and beyond has the now current strange art style that exists now... Not sure how to describe it... more westernized? I don't know :p

Black and White looked pretty good in the design department, I wonder why they didn't settle for that art style.

Probably wanted to make the games more appealing for younger audiences? I'm not sure. Your guess is as good as mine.
