Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sony: Nearly A Third of PS4 Owners Only Had a Wii or Xbox 360 Last Gen

Microsoft truly hurt themselves with that DRM reveal that is for sure, however ill still take these figures with a grain of salt.

I really can't imagine any Wii gamer last gen moving to PS4 this gen.

Xbox 360 is completely understandable though.

Agreed, not sure why a wii only owner would skip out on the cheaper ps360 with the ammount of games on offer they missed.

Connoisseur... sounds elitist. Somehow I no longer want a PS4, I don't want to be associated with that kind of people.

Those Wii gamer looking for a life past mini games, party games, movie and cartoon tie-ins and wanting a greater variety in their 3rd party choices.

I feel like i should be mad that he insinuates i have no books on my bookshelves, but i actually don't god dammit, but thats more to do with the fact im a Kindle guy.

i have comic books.   :P  calvin and hobbes ftw!!

OT - of course sony is picking off ex-xbox fans.  most gamers have no loyalty.  anyone thinking xbox (or sony or nintendo) has more than ~10M loyal fans is blinded by wishful thinking.

That is almost my case, i only had a 360 and a Wii, then i was forced to buy a PS3 for The Last Of Us and discovered all the games.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

The Wii was everywhere last gen and was the most popular in the mainstream.

This time PS4 seems like the most popular in the mainstream.

It will just be casual gamers following trends

They are the people who, when you walk in [to their home], there's no books on their book shelves. They're all game packages.

But... i have way more books than games

Aaaaaaand.... For all doubters of porting PS3 games, can you now see what market Sony is tapping. Almost 3 million newcomers that haven't played The Last of Us. And God of War and Uncharted, if we're to trust the rumors.

So much for that famous brand liyalty and XOne picking up on all those fans. Many are long gone to the blue side.

EDIT: This could mean huge August numbers for TLoU Remastered.
