Forums - Gaming Discussion - 100 Good JRPGs

Except for maybe one games, all the games in this list will be us releases.  It's also listed sort of listed like a top 100, so not exactly my opinion of a top 100, but give or take 5-10 places.  I do have a few, but didn't include most action games where RPG is the sub genre, like Ys Oath in Felghana, Demon's Souls, etc.

As I play other games or remember games that I've missed adding maybe I'll update the list.  Maybe include a seperate list of games that got knocked off the list and a list of popular games that I really didn't like.  Might also add a video showing gameplay of each game.

Too much stuff missing on that list.

Get rid of Suikoden 3 and put in 5.

Wild Arms 5 also deserves a spot on this list.

I've played Suikoden 5 for 10 hours, but quit after the first war battle but before I got the castle.  I've heard afterwards that the beginning of the game is really slow and it gets really good once you get your castle.  I just couldn't play through it anymore.

Wild ARMs 5 is the only one in  the series I haven't played.  I probably would have included it because of that since it's the same as the fourth but better apparently.  Also haven't played Tales of Xillia yet and I'm sure that one would makes its way up there as well.

When you find a way to add 150 games to a list of 100 games without going over 100, you let me know.  There are also some highly praised games that I don't think are that enjoyable.  Valkyrie Profile, Final Fantasy 12, Vagrant Story(overall it's good but if you don't train your weapons on dummies you hit a brick wall in terms of difficulty 40% into the game,) Tales of the Abyss, etc.

No Vagrant Story? did u even ps1 rpg bro

You think vandal hearts 2 was a good game? Really?

Didnt think that was something anybody considered good...

PS1 was truly the premier JRPG console. You can now have that library, on top of the brilliant PSP RPG library on your Vita, making it the ultimate RPG platform.
