The reason its not in the game is because nintendo made the game fir the japanese market, In japan there is no law agaist same sex relationships but there is no law supporting it as well, that is just there how they feel about it, if you are gay keep it to your self that is how they work.

Part of me says, It's Nintendo's game, they can do whatever the fuck they want with their game. The other part of mt says, why is it so difficult to just add the option to have same sex relationship. Making it available does not mean you condone it, just like Rockstar doesn't condone murder just because GTAV revolves around it. Granted, these are two different things but still.

Why do so many assume that when a request like this is made people are saying "WAHAHAHH WE NEED LAWS TO MAKE SURE EVERY GAME HAS SAME SEX COUPLES REPRESENTED!" or "I ONLY buy games with same sex couples!"?

These are people who support Nintendo and who want to buy their game. They like the game but it doesn't include a feature they would like. Just like if any other game was missing a feature you really liked. Battle mode missing from Mario Kart, no Captain Falcon in Smash Bros. They have the right to request that feature, and this one makes sense in a life sim game that's supposed to be about yourself.

It's not an attack from Nintendo on homosexuals, and anyone trying to make it seem so is simply a journalist looking for hits. But we can request what we'd like to see and let the content of Nintendo's games affect our opinions of them. It's clear they've chosen the risk averse option in a market that's already had some products lead the way in this respect.

It should have legalized abortions and marijuana in the game too. I'm not buying it until they fix this.
