Shinobi seems especially excited for Sony's conference.

He's right to be excited. I might be getting a little overhyped here but I really think that this years is going to show how crappy the last two E3s from Sony actually were. They'll have an amazing show, even with a lot of third party stuff.

why do people consider third party stuff bad at E3 showings? id honestly be very disapointed if there was a weak third party showing at Sony and MS's E3. because at the end of the day i play and enjoy a lot of third party games. the more third party the better, because it means one thing, more games to play.

I think it's too much 3rd party and not enough first party. I do like 3rd party stuff to be shown; while I don't necessarily think first party should get more since that's a little unrealistic, unless you don't get 3rd party, I don't want more than one dominating the other.

I do see what you're saying though. My biggest complaint is the CGI stuff. MS in particular I felt overdid it last E3 with CGI, hopefully we get more gameplay from both. Just my two cents.

I understand the mentality actually, when I watch a Sony conference I'm doing that to see what they themselves are having in the works, I realize the importants of third party titles and that they are on the system, but I'm not excited by timed exclusive DLC and I don't need to have games that will be available everywhere to be shown at Sony conference.

That being said, how can you not get excited by this?

Man, once I'm done with my presentation tomorrow I'll be able to fully concentrate on E3, this is going to be so much fun.

What made 2009 so special? And yeah it'f going to be a good show knowing at the very least the devs that are going to be there.

Btw. the Killzone Facebook page changed its profile picture today the first time in 8 months or so, maybe we'll get GG Cambridges game at E3:

I actually think they did this purposefully, allow for an additional year or two past the consoles launch to really start pushing out the new first party games, letting them instead remaster older titles, to give them a longer time to figure out new tricks for the new hardware.  Of course, this is merely theory, but it kinda makes sense.

I honestly wasn't watching E3 back then, but I often hear that 2009 was Sonys best E3 conference ever (even though it had a lot of Move crap).

No, I definitely agree. Also, it gives people who didn't play those games ie) Uncharted and MCC a chance to get into the series repsectively. Another mportant fact to note is game development is increasing, so they might need that extra capital to fund those next gen games. Agreed especially on the new hardware part as well.

I'd be curious to see if we would've seen the same level of remasters, if the PS4 wasn't doing so brilliantly.  I'd even be willing to think that Sony changed their strategy after they saw how fast the PS4 was selling.  I'm not necessarily sure it's about 'needing' the money, so much as it's...well, may as well make money while we're playing around with the new hardware.  Either way, I doubt Sony mind the additional revenue.
