Blockbuster World Video Game Championships.  1993-1994.

Was that NBA Jam and Judge Dredd on Genesis?

NBA Jam and Sonic.  There was a third game at the local level and I can't remember what it was.

I got a perfect score on Sonic at the store level, which I think was double what the next best player had.  Went on to the next level at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto and won that.  Then went to Florida.  I did very well through several rounds but was eventually eliminated with a buzzer beater shot in NBA Jam.  The guy who eliminated me won the whole thing.

Crazy!!!  NBA Jam is such a badass game.  Have you played On Fire edition?  If you have it, we should jam.  What was the grand prize of the tourney?

Playing civilization for the first time (1991), could not believe a video game could be that awesome. That entire night is still vivid in my memory.

Playing Descent (1995), 6 axis of freedom, true 3D map, when it clicked it was amazing to fly around in. It was also the first game I (later) played in stereoscopic 3D. I can also still exactly remember where and with who I was when we first tried that game.

Half-Life (1998), Soundblaster hooked up to my new surround amp. I watched the intro sequence at least 3 times before starting the game.

Everquest (1999) Nothing as epic as falling in love, meeting up, and getting married a couple years later.

Shadow of the Colossus (2005) Chasing down the flying Colossus on horseback in the desert, to leap on and climb to the top.

FF12 (2006) I took a detour, got lost underground somewhere (some 'shortcut'). It turned into a 2 hour epic struggle to survive, close to death numerous times, retreating to survive but that gave the enemies more time to respawn. In a final push a mini boss showed up, yet somehow I pulled through and got out of there.

Dark souls (2011) Lost in the depths, in a desperate attempt I jumped off something and ended up at a Bonfire. Then had no clue how to go back or forward. Underpowered, death around every corner, weapons degrading more and more, I managed to map the layout fight by fight to finally find the way out 2 hours later.

Fract OSC (2014) True exploration and discovery in a vast open fully 3 dimensional cavern. This gave me the same feeling as playing Descent. I just wiped my save game to start another playthrough.

Recently, The Last of Us. I was truly and experience I wish I could forget and relive. Left Behind was also amazingly made and brought back those emotions that you feel for the characters during the campaign.

Definitely, the arc with Sam and Henry. I have a little brother I hold dear and i really connect with Henry and his "mission." I don't wanna spoil anything but that part really got to me.

Orcarina of Time - i) Beat the guy in that race and getting Epona
ii) Getting the master sword.

Jak and Daxter - Collecting 101 power cells.

Twilight Princess - Turning into a wolf for the first time.

Max Payne - Beating Jack Lupino (I was 5 at the time and his devil worshiping ritual boss fight was scary as fuck.)

Kingdom Hearts 2 - Beating Sephiroth.

My most epic moment was playing StarCraft for the first time (Which was about 16 years ago), on Battle.net against a friend in real life who was playing Terran and suddenly hearing "Nuclear Launch Detected".

Pairs of underwear were changed that day.

Shooting a silver arrow through Ganon's foul heart.

Playing Super Mario World at a firend's house in 1992 (my first gaming experience).

Playing Half-Life in 1998 at the same friend's house. I only played GameBoy and SNES before.

Playing Soul Calibur in 1999 or 2000 in a store.

First LAN party where we palyed Quake 3, Unreal Tournament, Counter-Strike and StarCraft for an entire week with almost no sleep.
