SSB really went downhill after Melee....

I would have loved new courses for earlier Mario Kart games. They should wait a year though, even longer maybe. Cause 32 courses is plenty, but not enough to keep you playing for 5-6 years.

Yes I would. DLC is fine as long as it's priced fairly for what you're getting.

Those games make sense to have DLC.

I would love to see DLC in Mario Kart and Smash Bros, but only if it adds meaningful content like more tracks/characters and it's priced reasonably!

dlc for racing games seems to work fairly well, or can at least. Burnout Paradise had tremendous dlc support, paid and free, that drastically prolonged the life of the game. Of course it was also more open world which is something dlc lends itself to pretty well as developers can just fill in some space as they see fit.

Fighting game dlc always feels off though, it just has that nickel and dime feel as so much of the dlc are color palettes, alternate costumes or at best, new characters, but it all feels like it should simply have already been there (or in the worst case is already there just hiding behind a few lines of code).

I don't want DLC for Smash Bros., I want it to be the complete package day 1.

For Mario Kart there may be some possibilities, and I think it could be a great fit if they do it right. They did it to some degree in MKWii, with the "on-disc online competitions" which you cannot access normally like the Galaxy Colosseum or something, so I'd like them to take that to a new level.

Yep.

Yes, Burnout Paradise is a great example of DLC done right. Except the time saver pack.

Yep.

Both these games cry for DLC. New tracks for Mario Kart 8 and more fighters and stages for SSB can only be a good thing. I'm sure the original trophy hunters would love to see extra content to unlock after spending hours getting 100%.

Nintendo has a hard enough time getting anything closed to balanced with Smash Bros fighters, and I feel like they are actually embracing more of the competitive aspects and general balancing this time around. I don't know if I'd really like to see characters added. Something about that feels wrong to me. It'd feel weird to see characters I'd paid more for mixed with everyone else...

Stages though, or music tracks. That stuff doesn't change basic gameplay, that's just new content. MAYBE alright.
Similarly, I would probably be down with something like two new quality MK cups as paid DLC this time next year.

Free DLC? BRING IT ON. I'll download it all.

I mean dlc as in expansion pack or after though content. Think of StarCraft and StarCraft BroodWar.
