Yes, DLC would be beneficial in games like these; if priced correctly ofcourse.

Who wouldn't want new courses for Mario Kart, after all?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

It' will happend.. (not sure of smash)

But.. 1 dlc for MK.. should be free

Can't wait for e3.. it's gonna be legendary

I'll only support DLC if it is free for everyone.

2 different ways I would like to see MK8 DLC handled

1. Each month release a new GP (4 tracks) with a new character and vehicle for say $5 (im not good with US DLC prices)

or idea 2. A $30 expansion 6-12 months after release like a PC game would receive. This includes 4 new GPs, 5 characters, 2 new vehicles for each weight class (1 bike, 1 kart), a new game mode, other new features.
Hell they could do this twice throughout the games life looking to double their money.

HELL NO!
well for mario kart anyway.

but smash i can careless about.

I want enough content in the games when they will be released. I still like to play Brawl and the older Mario Karts. So I would prefer some free challenges integrated in the game (not in Miiverse) and not DLC. Everyone waits for announcements for new characters etc. and if the come with DLC it will ruin everything.

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

So much DLC talk lately! But yes, as long as the DLC is worked on after the games release. Been saying it for a while but I'll say it again. I'd love for a Green Hill Zone track as MK8 DLC! It'd just make so much sense! Anti-gravity makes the loop de loops possible, the item boxes can be replaced with those TV monitor things, the rings can replace the coins, and when you get hit, it makes that classic sound when you lose rings in the original Sonic game! Cmon Nintendo, make my dreams come true for once!

Why would you, as a consumer want to pay double the money for a single game? What do you win from that? DLC should never exceed 25% of the original price, that would be disgraceful and dangerous. Will ultimately lead people to buy these games from the bargain bin.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Because I fucking love Mario Kart and waiting 5+ years for the next game is a bitch. Me paying the price of the game in DLC over 1-2 years which has roughly as much content as the main game is actually better than those that buy FIFA and Madden each year.

The only alternitive is they hurry the fuck up and hack the WiiU so we can get working on some epic custom tracks like we had in Wii

I'd agree with you if all that went for 2 batches of 15$ each, but seriously, charging 120 bucks for a game, no amtter the amount of content it has, will be one of the worst decisions anyone could take. They rather release a MK 9, as double the content doesn't justify double the price.
