That's right, today is the anniversary of the Game Boy! The handheld was launched on Friday, the 21th of April of 1989 in Japan.

The very first console to pass the 100 milion mark.

So let's celebrate it! How many of you had it? And which version? Which is/was you favorite game(s)?

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

This thread gets my endorsement. Great system, and I still love the games today.

Party time!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Wow, happy birthday to Game Boy! I never got one myself though even though I wanted it so bad.. but I played on my friends ones often.

Yep.

So, my brother's (and my) beloved black original model turns this old already? Damn, time just flows by so fast. Pokemon Yellow and Red along with with many others made the system into what it's known for today! (The original Pokemon games are also my system favourites)

Long live the Gameboy!

It's not a party without some music, so here's a couple classic tracks from the old boy:

The above track was so universal that they used it for a tv commercial that sold home appliances.
