It seems to be the most widely reviled entry to the series since MW2, yet I actually found it to be one of the better ones.

The space and underwater levels added variety, it had a proper stealth mission that wasn't just "follow the leader", and it had possibly the best Wiimote + Nunchuk FPS controls ever.

Since you are talking about the single player alone. Yes, i thought it was the worst one from the series. Call of Duty single player campaigns i've played are 1, 4, MW2&3, Blops 1&2 and ofcourse Ghosts. Even the dogs and fish couldn't save this game but hey if you liked it, that's actually a good thing.

yes you are, but seriously the game was really a let down for me because they removed 4p offline and the story was just MW2&3 mixed together.

Multiplayer map design is pretty bad, and multiplayer is the game's main draw.

No, you are not. I have liked every single cod, mw3 included. Talking of the whole game has a great and fun multiplayer besides of a decent campaign. I spend a good amount of hours in ghosts and don't regret it.

Singleplayer is great, multiplayer is trash. I wish they would remaster COD4 and release it on the PS4.

yes you are i hated it thought it was the worst the SP wasnt that bad it still has your typical COD Michael Bay feel and was enjoyable to play through but the ending and the MP failure just ruins the overall game i did like the extinct mode though

MW1 and 2

MPs i liked all except ghost but my most played and enjoyed would be BO2 or MW3 i only tolerated ghosts MP for a day or two maps are to big twitch shooter is gone

My brother wanted it since BF4 was having so many problems so I went out and bought it. The single player was fine but it mostly feels like follow the leader and take down a few enemies. It doesn't really require a lot of skill and that sucks.

I played maybe 10-15 matches of the MP and I was done. It was a camping fest and I just lost interest really fast. I haven't had fun with COD since the original Black Ops.
