So he throws out "almost 100 million" then when is called out on how ludicrous it sounds, it's "between 75 and 90 which are both uh you know close to 100" LOL. Not buying that for a second which makes me doubt everything else he posted.

Yeah, this whole things screams damage control, from a bullshitter. Some fanboy "insider" saw everything going on inside of every sony studio, and has all the info on money, and games being produced, and every detail.... yeah, sure guy....

Oh my  god, really?...What's the damage control?

Around the Network

The only reason someone would want to work for Sony right is cuz they need the money

It seems really unlikely all these things would reach critical mass at the same time... and even more likely that an insider would know so many reasons people got fired.

Generally companies do hire after they fire, even when restructuring, and companies generally do have ads up, even when they don't plan to hire.

Whats the damage control?! Really?!.... companies fire/lose people all the time. Companies cancel games all the time for numerous reasons. But what you dont hear is those companies having someone make up a bunch of reasons, or explainations. fact Is all of this shit is happening all at once. If this shit was just business as usual, nobody would be coming out to tell the reasons why. All i hear is, this guy had an ego, that guy sucked, that game was a pieceof shit..... damage control, buddy, plain and simple. I think whats going on is, maybe, these high profile producers and people, have lost some confidence in sony as a whole. aside from the ps4 doing phenominally well, the company hasnt got much else. These people are bailing, before sony goes bankrupt, and the real restructuring of sony starts to happen. There you go.

I wonder what Sony will do to Team Ico after The Last Guardian releases (if it ever releases). Wouldn't be surprised if they close that studio after The Last Guardian.

I think no one is seeing that first party is not so important anymore. Sony has the most powerful and easier to develop for platform. Developers will develop for PS4 naturally, without Sony doing much work, without needing to moneyhat. We're back to PS1 era.

Oh, you're playing the popular "it's all just because Sony is going to be bankrupt and doomed etc" card, how surprising. The reason he's giving some explanation is because the media and people like you have been in total panic mode over all these things in the last couple weeks, has that ever occured to you? Like I've said not every bad news about Sony can immediately be attributed to them doing not so peachy financially. Or do you seriously believe that Stig left because he thought "damn I just burned through 4 years and tons of resources and have nothing to show for it, I better get the fuck out of SSM, since this Sony ship is going down"?

So I'd much rather believe the reasons given in the OP, then your "oh they're bailing because Sony will soon be bankrupt"-explanation, cause if that was the case they would've been out of there years ago, since we've been hearing this since 2007 or something, and not now when the PS4 is doing as phenomenal as it is.

They didnt leave years ago, because they hadnt made a name for themselves yet, but i guess they started at the top, according to you. Damage control, keep it up. Its helping!

Sony was way too soft on their studios and it really hurt them in times of critical need. Polyphony took WAY too long to put out GT, even tho it sold well....it aint pushing the type of numbers anymore to warrent a free pass like it used to get. Last Guardian development is a total catastrophe and a syphon on Sony funds. The only reason it is still in dev is because there would be an even worse backlash if this game that so many were anticipating doesn't release. This is a lot like FFVersusXIII, which we saw SquareEnix stock plummet when the rumors that it was canceled came out(which it most likely was but Square was trying to kill it quietly as not to alarm stockholders and save face). There are numerous 1st Party Endeavors which did not earn their keep. Starhawk,PSASBR, Puppeteer, Resistance 3, WKC, MAG, etc. Many of these costing way too much for what they produced. Sony has always been a fan of letting artistic minds run free.....but they have to draw the line and when these developers promise the next big hit Sony is now holding them accountable and their jobs are on the line. Sony can't afford anymore dud releases. To be on Sony's good Dev list you need to be making a game that either showcases their hardware power (Killzone, LBP,Uncharted) and/or able to sell millions with minimal loss.

In the dev's defense, Sony definitely sent a few of these games out to die with no marketing and at the worst possible times.

Yeah, Stig has made a great name for himself after crashing this game. Amy Hennig was totally unknown before this year and Col Rodgers has obviously become a huge name in the game industry since he joined Sony. The only one that we could say made a name for himself is Justin Richmond but he already did that in 2011 when Uncharted 3 shipped, if not even earlier.
