Man I was playing some Hardpoint on Nexus earlier today and a Gen 10 was on my team. I know that just like any other modern shooter, rank and everything typically means you have simply played longer. You aren't guaranteed to be any better than a Gen 1 level 23 guy. So the round starts and I use my stim ability to run towards an objective and this Gen 10 guy jumps onto a wall they put at the spawn, wall runs up it, double jumps across a gap to another short wall on the other side of the street, lands on it and wall jumps up it, flies off of it and is now jumping up the street at a pace about 3 times as fast as I was going stimmed. Made me realize what a huge skill gap the game can have simply in movement. LOL @ "CoD with mechs".

And then the game plays on and you see the guy might move incredibly well, but his gunplay is pretty average so he's really not a great player or anything. This game is really more of a Halo than a CoD when it comes to the mechanics. There is so much potential to just completely embarrass someone with movement and simple tactics that never exists in CoD.

About to hit Gen 5 and the dreaded Gooser challenge. I gotta say the most frustrating one so far for me is the Autopistol. Thing sucks.

Is this GEN stuff the equivalent of prestige?  I just got to level 50 on my first go through, debating whether it's worth it.  And yeah, some people are very slipper so to speak and therefore hard to hit.  But I think my aim is slightly above average.

What's fun is that the COD spran n pray does not work well in this game (I like).  That and the dedicated servers minimize if not almost completely eliminate all instakills (I really like).  Game is great fun so far and over 20 hours in.  Have not touched Ghosts since!

Havent touched it in a while. And I do not feel the need to. I'll revisit sometime but not for now. Screen tear and fps drop (as well as feeling of the game rarely rock solid 60) turned me off badly. Bot are useless and doesnt add anything, annoyance, thats all. The more I think about it the more I wish there was no titan, no bot, pvp only 8v8 would be awesome. Kind of disapointed that the hype died so quickly on me but I'm sure within a few weeks I'll feel the need to play it again and hopefully it will have been improved.

Not possible for me anymore to play in those conditions.

even though that game is fun, it cannot re create the feeling I had while playing mw2 and/or first Blops. I really hope they add a titanless mode and fix that graphical mess.

note that is pure opinion based on personnal experience.

While I disagree with you (love the game), they could always introduce a Pilot only mode with a patch (or more likely, a DLC) in the future.  Seems pretty straightforward to me...

Yeah, the performance is noticiably lacking sometimes, but nothing so far that has detracted from the overall fun of the game.

Yeah regenerating is basically prestiging from CoD. The big difference is this game gives you specific challenges you must complete before you can do it. (though, IIRC, from 1 -> 2 requires nothing)

I like that aspect because it makes you adapt and use new weapons/abilities and stuff. I'd have never known satchels were so awesome if one of the regen challenges wasn't based on them.

So rare that you line up a potential Titanfall crush and it just works out flawlessly.

It's probably in the April Fools thread but in case anyone missed it LOL.

So how is everyone doing on the game?

Tonight I passed the 5 day play time mark. Now sitting at 5 days and 1 hour. That's like 121 hours if my math is correct. I guess that 10 for replay value was spot fucking on after all.

Just hit Regen 9. Man that 100 Win challenge is no joke. Takes forever to farm shit if you aren't on a good team.

One of the amazing things is how after all this time playing I still find awesome new combos. Really digging the Stryder Arc Cannon combo lately. Add some electric smoke and you can pop it off while you retreat, and then turn around and shock anyone dumb enough to follow. And been using the active pulse more and more.

I recently read the Game Informer review and it said one thing that I totally agree with but didn't really notice: Every battle has a noticeable beginning, middle, and end.

-It kicks off with everybody dropping into battle and taking position in the battlefield and battling each other Call of Duty style.
-A couple of minutes in, the Titans come into play and suddenly there's huge explosions, epic confrontations, and desperate tactics.
-Finally, when one team loses there's the race to escape the battlefield while the winning team attempts to hunt the remaining survivors down.

It's all pretty epic and it happens so smoothly that you feel like you just took part in something spectacular without really realizing why it felt that way. Great game.

Just hit Gen 7. After 100+ hour.
My teams constantly suck and there are tons of quitters in this game.
However, this game is a blast. The action comes to you even if you don't want it. It's like Die Hardx100 in terms of high adrenaline action sequences.

My brother and I were just talking about this a couple days ago while we were playing Attrition farming wins/rail gun kills for regen challenges. The phases of each match. We also had 3 phases.

Parkour - This is the start of the match when everyone picks their favorite line and parkours to their spot like crazy. I really love spawning, running out and using active pulse and just watching the lines so many people take. It's beautiful, and vastly different than CoD or BF or something where everyone spawns and pretty much follows the same line. They then rack up points until we reach the next phase.

Titans - I like when each team gets a couple around the same time, but it seems more likely than not you have one team with 3-4 Titans and the other team with very few. But then in this case the Titan team usually gets a nice big lead, but as time wears on and their Titans get worn down and the other team finally get theirs, the score gets closer and closer. Until one team wins and triggers phase three.

GET TU DA CHOPPA - I typically don't even try to make it to the ship here when I am on the losing team. I would rather pick enemies off and protect my teammates in the ship. When I win though I make a beeline for the extraction point and try to destroy the ship.

I love CTF now too, much more than I did when I wrote this review, but it seems to have different phases too.

CTF - Pilot on pilot, tried and true CTF gameplay.

Titans, Titans Everywhere - People earn their Titans and suddenly there are Titans everywhere. I play almost nothing but defense, it's funny to step outside my base and see 5 Auto-Titans sitting there.

Can we have that tip done in a video ? I don't have titanfall but that looks funny to waste 2 minutes on...
