Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will MGS: Ground Zero destroy it's series as bad as Ninja Gaiden 3 did to it's franchise?

If this game sells well,, it will be bad for teh gaming industry as developers will see that its okay to charge people ridiculous amount of money to play a very short glorified demo as people are liek sheep when it comes to certain gaming franchise

It will definitly lower the popularity of the series but im sure phantom pain will still sell in the millions. This was abad move though.
Ninja gaiden was a smaller series to begin with, but for me razors edge did redeem them. Aslong as they learn from that lesson the series should recover.

I won't buy this at full price. I'll have a look at it once it drops to maybe 15 bucks or so. Still very hyped for Phantom Pain though

Most reviews say it's basically a good preview of what's to come just overpriced; so I doubt it. Besides, even if it did, there's always a chance of recovery for a beloved series.

Not with Phantom Pain basically right around the corner. It was critical that Ninja Gaiden III be good since it was the first game without Itagaki. When it was a hot mess, a lot of fans lost faith in the series going forward. But when Metal Gear fans might complain about Ground Zeroes being too short or a bad value, they also understand that it's just Metal Gear Solid V: Prologue. There's no way they'll bail on Phantom Pain.

nah it will be forgotten like gt5 prologue

A 75 Meta score isn't going to destroy a franchise.

Ground Zero is getting hammered for its length and price whereas NG3 got hammered because the gameplay was terrible and among other things.  I've only played the demo of Razors Edge, but the combat was a huge improvement over the original NG3.

No, only a mediocre Phantom Pain would hurt the franchise.

No. If Phantom Pain is terrible, that would be bad.
