So it's delusional to believe that more than 5% of the PS4's success is due to being the bigger global brand, not having a pre-launch shitstorm and constantly being publicized in having the superior version of most multi plats?

Gotchaaaa.

If the ONE was $100 less the the PS4 in the US, it would be way ahead. Simple as that.  Deny it all you want.

and you can keep telling that to yourself all you want too.

It'll be an never ending loop too.

Here are my reasons why so many people are saying that the Playation 4 is better than the XBox One:

- The PlayStation 4 is cheaper than the XBox One.

- The PlayStation 4 has a lot more exclusives than the XBox One.

- A year of PlayStation Plus membership gives free games and costs less than a year of an XBox Live subscription and you don't get free games with XBox Live.

- The Third Party Game selection on the PlayStation 4 will be bigger than on the XBox One.

- Sony will have more First Party Titles on the PlayStation 4, where Microsoft will only have a few First Party Titles that don't get as much attention as Sony's First Party Titles.

- Indie developers will cater more to Sony than Microsoft.

- A lot of people say that the controller on the PlayStation 4 is better than the XBox One controller.

That's what I think anyway.

LOL so much debate about what if the X1 was a $100 cheaper than PS4.

IF it was $100 cheaper it would have a wii u spec and be being utterly ignored for being a tiny bit more powerful 360.

Thats a pretty big if.

If Microsoft were willing to take a hit, or remove kinect, they could have it cheaper than PS4 with the same specs.

If they can get it to $299 by dropping Kinect, they should do it IMMEDIATLEY

Or it would show what is more reasonable: that the U is not priced to sell in the market of the Wii.

Games like Wii Fit U are not selling because the U is priced for a difference market strata and as such that pricepoint is limiting sales of the Wii-type games.

it's $50 more than the Wii at launch....lol. More reasonable? Come on dude.

It's too expensive, considering it had no games bundled and required the purchase of an external HDD for a console that relies heavily on downloadable content. Thus, the pricepoint for the U did break it for the console, as the market they targetted clearly did not respond to the higher pricepoint (the true equivalent was sold at $299, $100 more pricier than the Wii at launch).

Uhh....what? It has games bundled and has since launch. And casuals aren't exactly the target demographic for DLC. Either way, you're pointing to things other than price, which is just proving my point.

And the bolded isn't even an argument. You're essentially saying "the Wii U didn't sell well, therefore it's because of the price." That isn't a logical conclusion. In fact, it isn't even a conclusion at all. It's a claim that has been poorly disguised as one.

Also, last I checked, $299 isn't $100 more than $250. Not to mention the fact that you're ignoring inflation.

Price, Power, Positive Pr.

i'd like to hear why he believe that though. it will be interesting to see his reasoning.

Interesting. but I'll never understand it. 360 had a year start too. didn't happen this time.

At least when it comes to the market in the US, which was easily dominated by Xbox last gen, price and negative PR are really the only two things that hurt the One out of the gates..

Cool story, but those are really not game changers like you think.

The real thing is price....namely 360 having 2008 prices in NA and coasting on them to this very day. PS3 dropped $150 since 2009 and introduced their own "gimped" $200 console just to stay competitive. People like to overlook that.

MS could have very well dropped to stay the winner but god bless their hearts....they preferred profitability ;)

P.S - People like to complain about MS's lack of 1st party support in the last few years, but we all know multiplats do all the carrying most of the time anyway. XBLA was still a beast and I preferred Halo 4 to anything PS3 had in 2012 (Halo 4 literally outsold every PS3 exclusive combined in 2012, so regardless that point is moot).

@bolded, Of course, what else was there to buy?  Less competition so more sales.

Price of 360 has nothing to do with Xbone, why bring this up?   MS proving they release unreliable hardware and are willing to let support for a console die off for years speaks volumes about their future products, ie Xbone.

Also @ XBone DRM not a game changer...lol?

Price has everything to do with Xbone, it is the main reason why it is losing. PS3 only caught up because it reduced its said price where as 360 coasted on the same price for 5.5 years.

Define "support" because 360 is in its 9th eyar where as Xbox only lasted for 4. And 360's 2014 games are reason enough to see that MS still cares on some level. DRM was a game changer, but MS remedied that stuff. Yes there is still a linegring consumer distrust, but price will always be a bigger factor.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Well here's the thing. It's still selling very well for what it is. MS may not care about being number 1 right now.

However, if they do care, then they will drop kinect.....but there is going to be some massive fallout from day 1 buyers.
