Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Kojima wants Snake in the new Smash Bros., but it’s not likely to happen

Nintendo, to Kojima: "Oh, we'll gladly put Snake in Brawl... as free DLC when our consumers buy the MGS HD collection you port over to Wii U! Nah, just kidding... we'll settle for the rights to put Twin Snakes on the eShop instead."

If only Nintendo were keen to fight to add any GC games to the eShop.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

I don't want to put my games on Nintendo system but I want Nintendo to use my character in their cross over brawler.

Outside framerrate issues, Konami put the best-looking version of Metal Gear Solid 3 on a Nintendo machine.

...WHAT!?

It's possible that Nintendo still want to include him (unless Konami interferes) but I doubt he's top priority considering there are other characters they could add that are more connected with [todays] Nintendo, such as the Wonder Team, Bayonetta, Tails/Knuckles, any character from Xenoblade, that guy from Pushmo, a Monster Hunter, Iwata, Palutena, Scrooge McDuck, Commander Video, the Switch Force girl, Shantae (please, please Nintendo!) etc.

My interpretation was that it means Kojima wouldn't object, but that he hasn't been asked yet. Snake only got in because Kojima really wanted him there, so if Kojima's no longer super-keen on it, it won't happen.

Makes sense anyway. Time to sample a few other 3rd party characters.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Why everyone here are forgetting this:
?

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Mostly because of the HD collection that came out at the same time, offering a better value proposition and better graphics?

Feels a bit like the indignity that was Mass Effect 3/The ME trilogy.

I always wanted that snake-skin 3DS...
I would love for Snake to return...
I never could figure him out, but I had fun playing as him...
I was under the impression he was quite popular...

Have a nice day...

Having him in Brawl was stupid. Why should a character that has never had a real history on Nintendo-console be in a game filled with Nintendo-characters? A bad port, a non-canon sequel and a remake does not count

Who is seriously expecting a straight answer from Kojima? He might as well have said to look forward to gaming magazines next week.

If including him gets a deal like seeing another metal gear on a nintendo console then I'll be happy, it was pretty cool having him on smash (the codec conversations were hilarious!) and another mg game it's nothing but a benefit to gamers... although it's a shame that there is always crap to deal with, like getting a poorly made version around the same time they release a collection with way more value
