I would say it is neither alive nor collapsing, but rather undead. Nintendo is losing money, and the Microsoft and Sony gaming divisons tend to survive by sucking money from other divisions. The console industry is an undead parasite feasting on the blood of other industries. This isn't a healthy industry at all and isn't sustainable without major changes.
I can't believe Amazon wants to enter this field, too.
