The Vita is getting dangerously close to the 3DS in Japan. The 3DS will be doomed if DQXI doesn't come out as soon as possible.

Wow, can not believe vita sold already 12m units in japan , Nintendo needs to do something quickly.

The PS4 should see a HUGE increase next week. I'm guessing Sony is holding out stock for the Titanfall release much like Nintendo did with the Wii for GTA 4.

If Sony isn't holding stock then...PS4 is dropping pretty fast, especially considering there biggest game so far is releasing next week.

"Saying that "the industry is collapsing" is dead wrong though, it is set to have doubled in gross turnover over the course of one decade (2005-2015) and is very much alive; it has simply changed"

I would say it is neither alive nor collapsing, but rather undead. Nintendo is losing money, and the Microsoft and Sony gaming divisons tend to survive by sucking money from other divisions. The console industry is an undead parasite feasting on the blood of other industries. This isn't a healthy industry at all and isn't sustainable without major changes.

I can't believe Amazon wants to enter this field, too.

I created a better table....

  XBO PS4
NPD VGC Before Adjs.  VGC After Adjs.  NPD VGC Before Adjs. VGC After Adjs.
November 909k 936k 969k 1,138k 1,250k 1,190k
Dezember 908k 975k 973k 863k 889k 890k
January 143k 229k 184k 271k 261k 279k
February ? 145k ? ? 202k ?

To be fair they just fixed the US numbers for PS3 and 360 early this year... finally they are inline with NPD for PS360.

How is that being overtracked in november makes vgc adjust their number UP and be even more overtracked?

By vgc overtracking trend x1 could be 120k on feb npd.

But wiiu down adjustments will be massive again and 3ds will happen as well going by jan npd (like 3ds and wiiu selling over 50% of jan npd total in the first feb week on vgc).

Im back just to remember you that the industry is collapsing. :D

Nintendo is not the whole industry -_-

I know

Doesn't look that way then, Nintendo collapsing doesn't affect the industry.

The gaming industry is branching out and segregating, leading to the console market suffering a contraction. Consoles are static products in what has become a highly revisionist consumer elecronics market.

Saying that "the industry is collapsing" is dead wrong though, it is set to have doubled in gross turnover over the course of one decade (2005-2015) and is very much alive; it has simply changed. There is still a sizeable market for more traditional home consoles if done right, but Nintendo isn't really tapping into it and so you go into sales threads and proclaim the death of the whole industry, that way everyone is screwed and that makes you feel better. You can deny it all you like, but anyone with an incling as to what you've been saying and predicting in here know this for a fact, one doesn't have to look further than the UNITY thread for proof, you were part of the "Just you wait and see!" crew and now you've suddenly started diving headlong into all-encompassing doom for everyone instead, it's a remarkable change of heart and one that warrants suspicion. You're saying this to feel better; period.

You've at least come to some important realizations since the UNITY thread was hot, but you still have a long way to go if you keep on insisting that going from 35.000.000.000$ to about 70.000.000.000$ in ten years is considered a "collapse". Like someone else mentioned; the Wii U is not representative of the gaming industry as whole, not even close.

The console industry is  collapsing...... nope, I don´t feel better.

Seriously now, i really believe this model (consoles with AAA games that require enormous budgets) doesn´t work. BUT, and it´s a big BUT, i firmly believe that Nintendo will be the most succesfull one of the big three by this gen end.

So, basically, like John Lucas, you think there will be some massive crash that will cause Nintendo to be the victor? It seems you have learned nothing then. Besides; Nintendo is a part of the industry, if the console industry collapses, so does Nintendo, especially when you consider the fact that they only have a gaming division to survive on. An industry collapse would doom them the most of all; they have nothing else to fall back on.

2 weeks ago the gap was 2.4 million between the PS4 and the X1 and in those two weeks the PS4 has sold 150,000 more consoles than the X1 but that gap is still 2.4 million. How does that work out?

The PS5 Exists.

PS4 decreasing a bit, but will be fine in the end.

Especially with inFamous: Second Son possibly boosting sales soon.

Actually, Wii U was undertracked by 25%.
