Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Wii U has worse 3rd party support than the N64 did!

I blame Wii Fit.

Hard facts, damn.

I'm more of an old school gamer, games such as assassins creed and cod don't interest me and much rather play a game such as Trine, I'm actually looking at getting quiet a few up and coming Indie games, I'm quiet happy with just Nintendo/Indie games.

Surprising no one. Several users and I have been complaining about the terrible state of 3rd party sales on the U as well as Nintendo's attitude towards them . It sucks cause they came out the gate swinging hard at launch. Seeing the worst case scenario you predicted unfolding in front of your very eyes is sad.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

A different take on the situation...do you think that a lot of Wii U owners are shunning mainstream 3rd party efforts in favour of indie titles? i mean the console is well supported in that dept and there are quite a few platform games on the Eshop which is the most successful genre on Nintendo consoles. Im actually surprised how many Wii U (and 3DS) owners buy digital.

With that old chestnut that graphics dont matter to Nintendo fans, i could actually see a some Wii U owners purchasing 2 or 3 interesting looking indie titles instead of games like COD or Asassins Creed. Us Nintendo gamers are a strange breed.

that theory doesnt make sense. Ninty owners dont buy indies anymore than Sony, MS or PC owners. Hell id be willing to bet that they dont purchase much in comparison considering they JUST started getting indies on their systems.

And people keep claiming Wii U will be "supported" 4-5 years more.
2016 at latest the new console.

yup perfect timing, when ps4 and X1 are in full force, with tons of games out, wiiu2 is gonna come out , sounds like a good plan.

New Handheld*

Releasing a new home console in 2016 would probably be a bit too early.

Yeah you prob right, just trying to look at things from a different perspective. I am one of the Wii U owners that has/will support 3rd party efforts, i sleep easy at night.

LOL not a chance.

Who would buy this new console if they Wii U only lasts 3 years in the market? Nintendo isnt that kind of company.

They will keep releasing their own games and signing exclusive deals with Japanese companies.

If anything they will release a unified portable/console system.
