You are the exact reason why i would be disappointed. Even more than a decade later, the game is still overhyped and overrated. It is not, objectively, the best final fantasy ever made. Every Final Fantasy was directed with the same greatness, VII is just the one that suits the most your tastes.

VII like any Final Fantasy had flaws, like a storyline with a lot of fake twists, and I didn't find the protagonist in any way interesting. And the post game grinding was boring too.

I agree that my appreciation for 7 is completely subjective, as is the greatness of any video game.  Notice how I said "i thought it was the greatest"?  However, I responded to your post in which you imply that 6 and 10 are better.  Arent you even more guilty of doing the exact same thing with 6 and 10?  You suggest that just because you liked 6 and 10 more than 7, then nobody else could possibly like 7 more.  I, at least, phrased my statement as my own thoughts and made no judegement on others...
