Forums - Gaming Discussion - Can we say Sony is failing at supplying PS4's soon?

We always put the onus on "high demand", but for example, I haven't seen Amazon US get a major resupply in many days now.

It just seems like not many PS4's are coming through the pipe.

Now too be fair it's outsold XBO so far, so we cant criticize really. But basically I'm starting to wonder if procuring 8GB of GDDR5 for every console might be causing problems for Sony, as they cant get PS4 in stock and we are nearly to February.

they air shipped ps4s in december to get them out in time for the holiday meaning they basically already sold their january supply for the most part. via normal logistic pathways it takes about 6 weeks to stock the supply channels. supply will pick up in feb just like it did for the wii when they did air shippments to meet holiday demand.

I think brick and mortars get the most supply. Saw some at Fred Meyer the other day. Try calling around.

Japan launch? They are making about a Million/month, so about 250K a week. The Japan supply has to come from their existing capacity. We'll see in 3 weeks time.

Other retailers like Bestbuy and Gamestop have plenty supply. Amazon is not really an indicator anymore. It's not that hard to get a PS4 now in US.

I've read that the supply situation is leveling out these days, I.E it's not sold out in every store you walk into.

well over here in my hometown (and the ones around, germany), you need to have a truckload of luck to encounter a PS4 (i actually did yesterday at a store i am almost daily), but they are sold almost as soon as they arrive. i went to Saturn (the biggest electronics retailer we have here) and they said that i should expect to get one at the end of february if i decided to pre-order one. (EVERY store has XONE's in stock. plenty of them, really.)

I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!

Compared to MS? Sony is supply and selling way more weekly then MS. So obviously GDDR5 is not an issue, considering they are ahead of MS>

Well we can certainly say they are failing at meeting demand.
