Forums - Gaming Discussion - Can we say Sony is failing at supplying PS4's soon?

Otherwise known as the Nintendo disorder; though, I wasn't aware it's contagious.

Moving a significant portion of your January stock into December to help meet holiday demand, launching in over 50 countries within a couple months, and an obviously expected big launch in Japan for February will tax your stock, buddy. It has nothing to do with the internal components of the PlayStation 4. Sony wanted mindshare across the globe and they're getting it. They didn't expect to do this well either. Remember, they projected 3 million globally by the end of 2013. Their projections were off by about 1.2 million in their favor.

Good god, its the best selling launch ever because of their supply. If they ramp up production more and hire more people, they would then have to fire all those people the next month when the demand is met. As it is, it isnt that hard to find a ps4 here in the states if you are looking for it. They will be readily available on shelves by march.

So no, sony is not failing at supplying the ps4, they have been crazy successful at it.

Slowly yet surely they will. People should stop looking at failure as such a negative. Yes they failed, but its good posative failure.

Its not the ram, they just cant produce enough. You can ptobably make about 500k consiles a month maybe up to aillion... but with 140k selling per week its going to take a while, not to mention they need to stow consoles away for japan launch. So a portion is getting put in reserve.
I would imagine its a mil a month, , roughly 500k get sold, 300k get put into warehouses for upcoming territory launches and 200 or so try to replensih shelves. Optimally a.console should have around 700 to 1mil on shelves for optimal sales

They've been in stock on Best Buy website for a week now.

they air shipped ps4s in december to get them out in time for the holiday meaning they basically already sold their january supply for the most part. via normal logistic pathways it takes about 6 weeks to stock the supply channels. supply will pick up in feb just like it did for the wii when they did air shippments to meet holiday demand.

The elephant in the room is that the Wii continued to get 200-250k through its first january. Granted it had Japan aswell. Also it was still like a million behind where PS4 is for the same time frame. Eu got like 40k-50k, 90k+ for us and the rest was Japan

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!
