Forums - Gaming Discussion - Titanfall Beta not on 360 cause it's to similar to X1

So apparently the Titanfall beta isn't coming to 360 because it's basically identicle to the X1 version except for graphics of course.  Is this Microsofts marketing strategy because they want to push the X1 console sales and don't want everyone picking it up for 360 instead?(which I will be doing)

No, MS is just pushing the X1 version to boost X1 sales.

I presume the 360 version exist because EA and Respawn wants it.

MS launched a new console and paid for a huge megaton exclusive.

It makes perfect sense to promote that version as much as possible. Why some of you would even try to paint that as a negative is beyond me.

Because most of us detest being manipulated.

Oh so you're getting Titanfall now? Quite the mood change considering you said this not that long ago...

"Titanfall is just a glorified lost planet. First person shooters are so damn boring now and the market is so over saturated. Leave it to Microsoft to milk the shit out of them, can't wait to see how much DLC and micro transactions they have."

LMAO, let's start the replies here OP.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

I predict 360 version to out sell Xbox1 version

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Who knows. I am however disappointed about the announcement of no beta for 360. Atleast we know someone who's pretty experienced it making the 360 version and not just some randoms.

Yeah, he used the phrase "marketing strategy" as it that was the issue, and of course that's just silly. Their marketing strategy makes perfect sense, as you described. However, he may have a point that it's rather disappointing that the 360 version is so similar that Microsoft even HAS to use this marketing strategy. I mean if this is supposed to be THE next gen experience on Xbox, but the last gen version is pretty much the same, that's...kinda sad. I feel like as much as it makes sense from a business perspective to release it on last gen, from a game design perspective, games are being held back by trying to release them on older hardware. I was almost impressed by the new Lord of the Rings game Shadow of Mordor, as it seemed like something that could really benefit from being next gen exclusive, but they made it cross gen, and it really killed my excitement. Of course, OP seems to be fine with it as he's getting the last gen version of Titanfall, but let's be real, the fact that such a leap from one gen to the next is supposed to bring a difference in performance that makes Wii U versions not worth it, and yet games that could benefit from it are all being released on PS3 and 360, and the last gen versions actually perform similar...I dunno, I just find it really discouraging, like there isn't really a "next gen experience". Maybe it will come in time, but in the meantime a lot of games won't live up to their potential.

There is always 2 people to manipulating. Shouldn't you stop doing something if you detest it? Being manipulated I mean.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I'm going to lock this. If you find a source, any source, post it and make a new thread, but i can't let something like this stand without a source.
