They tried buying Nintendo for 25b and that didn't work out.

According to the book Opening the Xbox: Inside Microsoft’s Plan to Unleash an Entertainment Revolution”, Microsoft was ready to spend $25 billion for the Japanese game giant. Nintendo’s U.S. president Minoru Arakawa wasn’t sure what to think when Microsoft made the offer. “I was surprised,” Arakawa admitted. “We didn’t need the money. I thought it was a joke.”

yeah i remember that. it took everyone as a surprise. Nintendo was really strong since it had the Hh monopoly, and even the GC made them a lot of money on SW. there was no reason for NIntendo to be sold to Msoft. but you know thats  how Msoft does things i guess.

Other than poisioing themselves there isn't a whole lot they can do, they're not private companies.

they commit Sudoku  in japan !

Its not just the company price MS would also have to pay the thousands and thousands Sony employes each month and restructure the whole company. Noy worthy since they are already making money with their Xbox division.

the monopoly would be terrible for gaming. just terrible 700$ consoles again 100$ subscription fee. no competition no worries.

Cause its not for sale?  Duh...

or atleast its game division...

Microsoft Dwarfs Sony and there's a possiblility Sony would go bankrupt. Microsoft Should buy Sony or at least playstation developer rights. Imagine Microsoft having pretty much a gaming monopoly in the US, Europe and having a strong foothold in japan. It would be easy for microsoft to buy sony and the Xbox One could easily sell 100 million -150 million this way. they would not have to cut price as fast either. Would have more first part games, wouldn't have to pay companies for exclusive rights for DLC, wouldn't have to advertise as much. Life would be complete. Why don't they buy sony???

First off, let me state that sony isn't going bankrupt. That article you looked at was just garbage to generate hits, like most things are.
Sony is currently valued at 28.523 billion, which is up since 2012. The company is in better shape since Kaz has taken over.
Now, Microsoft currently is valued far higher, at 78.94billion. But think about this. To buy Sony, MS would have to sell off a third of ALL its assets. And the funny thing about it is their gaming division would probably  be one of the first assets to sell off. Also, if they went through all liquid assets, they themselves would go into banktrupcy.

1. Sony isn't for sale
2. Why would Microsoft waste money to buy a company that has been struggling for the past 7 years? Would be a total waste of valuable resources.

if that happen, that would be the time when i quit gaming or go nintendo only

It is a publically listed company, As such it is ALWAYS for sale. That aside it makes no sense as Sony are not currently a healthy company, too much debt with some very costly loss making divisions, combine the buy out costs plus restructuring costs it would be a very expensive exercise. I doubt there would be any anti trust issues (gaming is a tiny fraciton of both companies and people on this site attribute way more importance to those divisions than either of the respective companies or governments do). Most likely though the Japanese Government would step in and block the move to protect a national icon.

Not true, they'd just do a hostile take over and offer shareholders a deal they couldn't refuse. They couldn't do this with Nintendo for obvious reasons.

Probably an extremely mental question, but what are the obvious reasons?

I think Seece's obvious reason , if I'm correct is that Yamauchi the President owned 60/70 % of the shares and no way in hell was he likely to sell .
